In this Direct interview, John is joined by Victor Davis Hanson, Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. Dr. Hanson addresses Biden’s role in the Afghanistan crisis, increased tensions between China and the US, and the future of the US-Australia relationship. They also unpack the authoritarianism of woke politics, the mounting resistance against critical race theory in the West, and discuss Victor’s upcoming book, The Dying Citizen (October 2021).
Victor Davis Hanson is an American classicist, military historian, columnist, and farmer. He has been a commentator on contemporary politics for the National Review and The Washington Times and is currently the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.
In addition to writing hundreds of articles, book reviews and newspaper editorials, Hanson is also the author of twenty-four books. Hanson was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2007 by President George W. Bush, and was a presidential appointee in 2007-08 on the American Battle Monuments Commission.

So tell me there Guenther, exactly which branch of the Military did Victor serve in? Eh? If i'm doing my math correctly when Victor was 18 we were engaged in a stupid war in Vietnam, that aside from the terrain, is exactly like the stupid war we've been in for 20 years in Afghanistan. I would have assumed that a true patriot like Vic would have had his parents consent and sign-off on an early enrollment so that he could have joined up at say 16 or 17, given the "great patriot" that he is and that our country was at war and needed him. And yet i can't find any record of Vic serving our country in any branch of the military when our country needed him the most. Odd🤔 🇺🇸 . But now that he's too old to be drafted, and if he tried to enlist couldn't make it through Boot Camp, he's gonna talk all tough. Frankly, i find that kinda pathetic.

@1958Jay1 I agree with SunnyJay post--well written. I would add the first step is to take this woke "revolution" seriously. It is a huge threat. The woke are trying to remold our society by intimidation. It is a power grab that knows no bounds. For example, one of my kids has been interviewing for a job. He was told there would be a special interview among others regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion. What is that you might ask? Google "interview questions on diversity, ..". The most sited 8 questions are the form, "if you aren't woke and actively and aggressive spreading the ideology, you aren't suitable for this job." The is so un-American. A complete afront to freedom of speech. Merit doesn't matter. They want party loyalty. The values of equal opportunity, equal before the law, judging people by their character, and that we will fight for the right of others to speak views with which we disagree are all examples of what made this great country. Also recommend Jordan Peterson. Push back against those pushing CRT. If they are woke, vote them out of office.

@@austinsmith3011 The "pay for play" scheme of the Clinton Foundation/Hillary division of the "deep state" ended with Trump's surprise victory. Another part of the Populist challenge to the Globalist elite Super Structure was the exposure of the hedge fund racket given cover and actually "protection" by the corrupt politicians of both parties who took illicit offshore campaign contributions (the "talking points" of the "Russian lawyer" at the Trump Tower meeting that had already been delivered to the Trump Tower in English and discussed with Rep. Dana Rohrabacher and members of his House Subcommittee for Foreign Affairs and finally mentioned by Putin before the camera at the Helsinki Conference with Trump in July 2018 when he mentioned Bill Browder's associates -- the Ziff Brothers hedge fund which laundered money looted from Russia to the Democratic candidate Hillary). The set up of the Trump campaign as one of the "October Surprises" was foiled when Natalia Veselnitskaya took a translator who was used by the top Democrats including Obama -- not a secret meeting as the media planned to allege. The complicit Corporate Media didn't cover the exposure of Hunter Biden's activities which were standard operating procedure of the children of the elite politicians all over the world (the best example was Isabel dos Santos -- daughter of the "Socialist" leader of Angola -- who became a billionaire in part from contracts with China for phones). The short term gains to get Trump out of power are increasingly long term losses for the Globalist Cabal which is now being shattered. Hanson was talking about the military leaders not corrupted by the Military-Industrial Div. of the "deep state" taking a stand, as in a way the former military leader now president of Angola has pursued a campaign of exposing the rampant corruption resulting in Isabel dos Santos fleeing Angola. It is ironic that the Global Magnitsky Act passed by the U. S. Congress can be used to sanction not only Russian oligarchs who remained in Russia while so many fled to England as Bill Browder but also international crooks such as Isabel dos Santos and the hedge fund managers who invested so much against candidate Trump during 2016 and eventually some of the donors for the 2020 election will be exposed regardless of the "slam dunk" scheme created by the founder of Arabella Advisers who also helped to set up the scheme of the Clinton Foundation.

Often wondered if the Republican party ran on single payer health care and paid tuition for degrees/technical courses/apprenticeships that led to actual employment, in return for an impermeable border and sending back the millions of illegal immigrants, America could perhaps move forward together. These seminal issues are not going to be resolved without compromise.

Anderson is a valuable voice in support of non-Marxist reason in Oz, whose security relationship with the US is set to strengthen -- a development that will be reinforced after the GOP wins back Congress next year. As to Hanson, his remarkable erudition even includes familiarity with Australia's role in WW2.
@shazmosushi
@shazmosushi 2 жыл бұрын
The US alliance widely supported and supported by both sides of politics. It definitely doesn't (and shouldn't) depend on which US party holds the presidency or Congress. Some former Australian leaders (most notably former PM Paul Keating) have called for Australia to have a less US-centric foreign policy, especially after the war in Iraq. Before Xi Jinping that idea was kind of reasonable, but right now very few people hold that opinion.
@Chris-bf5jp
@Chris-bf5jp 2 жыл бұрын
@@shazmosushi The US is utterly unreliable. It is a declining nation - economically, politically and socially - and it's military looks good on paper but hasn't won a major war since WWII. It's also an overstretched empire that no longer knows why it exists (it used to exist to protect the interests of the transnational corporations but these now can deal with China or any other country without reference to the US government's policies). I suspect the Australian government, as well as other allies, are reluctantly waking up to the realization that they are not going to be saved by Uncle Sam any more.
