Dude's not even thinking about what he's doing. He doesn't have to. He's so at one with his instrument. It's a part of his soul, and he plays 100% by feel. It's unreal.

It's so weird to me that when I hear fret buzz or something like that in my own playing it annoys me to no end but with Mr Wooten it just sounds like it's supposed to be there. He truly is a prodigy

I just finished an online bass camp with Victor. The man is from another planet, in the absolute best sense of the term - both as a musician and a person.

I still se people commenting stuff like, "he should play guitar" but people don't realise, we don't play bass until we're 'good enough' to play guitar and we don't play bass because we don't want to be in the spotlight. I find new things every time I watch this video. Here's a list (ongoing): • All throughout the song, you'll be able to hear parts where he "misses" notes (tries to hit and doesn't come through or something like that). Most people call it a mistake, we call it jazz. • Around 1:15 , he starts to improvise, but from what it sounds like to me, he hits a note he doesn't want to, but still improvises with said "wrong" note into a beautiful walk. Moral of the story: When you can improvise, there are no "wrong" notes lol. I like to say, "My favorite scale is the chromatic scale."

To me it's evident that he's the best at his art. His whole vibe proves it. A master of the craft. There's so much emotion in his playing. His ability to block out the standard music theory, and just play and feel what is needed is unmatched. It's a privilege to enjoy his work
