Ahhh .. Having just watched the original, with Robert Donut and Greer Garson, I have to say that I love this one too.. Martin Clunes and Victoria Hamilton, absolutely capture the characters of Mr Chips and his love fro Cathy .. Wouldn't it be lovely if the whole thing were posted on here to enjoy... When I watched this on TV, some time ago, the ending had me in tears, as all adaptations of this fantastic book do.. I shan't spoil it for others, but if you have seen it you will know what I am talking about, brilliantly acted and definitely right up there with my favourite version, with Robert Donut and Greer Garson... Martin and Victoria, acted marvelously and made me smile and cry too..*sighs* :0)x

As a retired school teacher I prefered the version with Peter O'Toole and Petula Clark however I have not seen this version but I did see the original.
