A genius. I'm from California. Just recently discovered this incredible woman. Addictive. I watch her over and over. Thanks again to the Brits. Most of what I love watching comes from England. And Victoria Wood is dazzling. Does it all. Including her incredible music. Thanks for posting!

she was a wonderful comedian and a wonderful person. As a teenager in NZ i watched her and was her biggest kiwi fan ... is sent her a post code from my town in NZ and she sent me a personally hand written post card back! I still have it and will always keep it.

Gloria Hunniford was one of those Northern Irish presenters who at the first chance of leaving Northern Irish TV and radio came around, she leapt over the Irish sea to the mainland and abandoned Northern Ireland.

Mainland? It's called England 🏴 and who can blame her?

Basically it’s her stand up routines on this interview

A lot of interviews with comedians will be set pieces of their act.

this is quite a private interview, dont think Vic liked talking about her personal life

A lot of it is made up for comedy effect. Her most honest interview is with Dawn French in More Girls Who Do Comedy. It's on KZfaq.

I never heard her publicly say why, but VW would not appear on Wogan with Wogan as the host. Odd. She regularly appeared on Clive James' various chat formats as they were old, close friends and she made appearances on Michael Aspel's ITV chat show and others hosted by Gloria Hunniford, but she would not appear with Wogan.

Suspect she didn't;t like his style - he had his annoying 'humour' that he thought was funny but it wasn't - similarly to Des O'Connor - equally unfunny and usually utterly uninformed.

Victoria also appeared on Parkinson talk show when he returned to the BBC in 1998, and she appeared a few times with Parky. Terry Wogan could be an appalling interviewer at times, his ego and arrogance got the better of him, making many interview awkward and an "all about me" attitude, which Steve Coogan used as Alan Partridge, he did admit a tiny bit of Alan comes from Wogan.

I've trying to compile a full list of all her TV appearances, and as far as I can see from various archives she only ever appeared on Wogan twice, and this is the latter appearance, when Wogan himself wasn't there. Her only other appearance was her first ever proper tv interview in 1982, so maybe her experience of it was part of the reason why she shyed away from interviews, although having said that I think both Vic and Wogan were legends.

She clearly saw through his pretence to the Oh so typical Irish 'insincerity' which never failed to arise after his numerous attempts at gags failed dismally.

Why is Gloria Hunniford with her enormous wig, hosting Wogan?!
@stephenguppy7882 Жыл бұрын
It was her turn to wear it. Terry was letting the fresh air get to his scalp for a week.

She was slim and beautiful and never knew it. She never knew how to dress. RIP Victoria, Queen of British Comedy.

I love that Vic dressed mostly casually and certainly comfortably. She is adorable, with flawless skin, shining mischievous eyes, and a quick mind. XOXO for you always Victoria.
