So I head up to Kelly's lane for a solo camp into McMichael's Hut in the Victorian high country, And BOOM! I got Snow in Summer.
This is camping at its best.
This took 3 times to make 1 video so was a double trip over 3 week the 2nd trip was in December when I got lucky with the snow footage

What an awesome trip, love that snow and scenery in general. Been 20 years since I have been to the region, and this brings back many memories, thank you! If you ever run tag along Vic High Country trips I would be interested, your camping style is 100% the same as mine ☺️

Yeah very lucky to see it this time of year mate. I did experience it in 2006 or 07 on Mt Skene In January one time. I was on the summit and the weather came in for about 5 minutes snowed! Then was just gone and sunshine again.

I've seen it back in 2007 on Mt Skene. One minute I was in the sunshine the next snow. It didn't last 5 minutes tho 👍

Great video buddy, can’t beat a fire during cold weather, I wonder how many people sweep out the hut like you did on leaving, well done and thanks for sharing

Was a great trip up there with Bonus Snow 👍I took quite a bit of rubbish out with me and had to sweep on entry. Had a ball in there so Peaceful 👍 one of the reasons I left out music so we can all here the sounds of the weather 🙂 Glad you enjoyed 👍

My son and i just came back from 3 days at McMichaels hut. Great spot. Some 'F' wit has chainsawed a hole in the floor near the sink. God only knows why. Some people should just stay at home.

Thanks for the video- unusually wet this year. It's getting popular up there. Good to see the hut unchanged - now with a sliding window- wow. The original McMichaels was close by on the Licola side but pretty torn apart by the 80's. Made of that finely corrugated iron, I would have a pic somewhere.

Love the videos. Keep up the good work! I was hoping to head to Wonnangatta valley before new years. Do you know what the tracks are like or skip it for this trip? Looks like Zeka spur track is closed. Have to come in from abbeyard? Rivers still very high?

No worries mate glad you enjoyed 👍 Zeka has just reopened. Not sure what the rivers are like coming out the Dargo way will be like. I know that part had another dump of rain today and as the ground is so saturated the rivers come up quickly. When I was last at Eaglevale the Wonnangatta river was very deep and going.
