Felix Immler is still the King of Swiss Army Knives . I've been carrying an SAK for 54 years and used the "up and down" can opener method . Just now tried this method on a can of soup and it worked better after sharpening the can opener . Thanks Felix for showing this old dog new tricks .

I’ve been doing it wrong for 50 years. Now I feel enlightened... not sure how I didn’t realize you could spin the can instead of the opener... and I pride myself in coming up with alternative methods and uses for almost everything. Nice! 👍🏻

Then brace yourself. 99% of people who use a normal can opener, the one that cut open the can lid, use the can opener wrong! They place the can opener on the side of the can and cut the inside of the lid open, similar as you see it in the video above. The correct use is actually to place the can opener flat on the top and cut the outside under the lid around the can so you can lift off the upper part without dirty hands or messing with the sharp edges. It's documented in the patent papers of this type of can opener as the example on how to use it.
@Senekha86
@Senekha86 4 жыл бұрын
@@thepurplesmurf Can you give us the patent papers than please. My SAK had a very small paper with instructions how to use the can opener. (I dont know why they do this. Anyway...) And they show the exact same standard technique as in this video. I wouldnt call things wrong when even Victorinox say you have to use it that way.
