These videos serve tons of respect to this trade. I’ve worked around the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma. I’ve seen just how hard a days work can be on a body. I learned to respect the work put in by people. I made a friend several years ago that noticed some of the concrete work in had previously paid for. He just handed me his card and said,” Do not let these guys back on your property.” I had several more projects to complete. I followed his advice and had him take care of the next several projects. This time I was able to be home and help out with decisions and learn. These men that pour that heavy mud all over the ground and drag it out level ( in the heat of the sun) work every bit as hard as those men out in the oil fields. It can be back breaking work. I can not understate the level of respect I have for the excavation skills this crew possesses. Ryan is a task master and is teaching these young men a valuable lesson. Knowing that things done by man are never a 💯 right. The work they do, they do it with might. I encourage Ryan and the entire crew to hold those high expectations close. The world around us all seems to be moving away from it. All the while progress demands it. We will all suffer soon enough if these details and considerations are not taken seriously. Been watching these videos for a while now and don't usually comment, but I feel inclined. I'm far from a handyman as I work in Cybersecurity, but I find these videos so entertaining (and educational). I think that speaks to how inviting this channel is and the reach that it has. Pops has worked his whole life in the construction scene and it's cool to get a glimpse of what he may have experienced growing up. Hopefully his bosses were as good a man as you. Keep up the great content. It takes less than a second to make a moment and this channel is full of them!

Definitely not over reacting Ryan. It’s really frustrating when “dumb” things happen that can completely jeopardise your business and your way of life. It’s the little things that can add up over time. One bad review can really hurt and things like that keep happening you’re gonna be constantly dealing with bad reviews and that can destroy your business in today’s world. Especially one like yours being that you pretty much only do residential work and those are the people who are really looking at a companies reviews and making sure they’re good before spending thousands with you. It’s hard as a small business. I mean what do you do?? Write them up and on the third or fourth in a year, just fire them?? You can’t afford to run like that, so you have to just bite your tongue and stay calm and just hope they learn and care enough to change. Just keep staying positive Ryan! Everything ALWAYS works out the way it’s supposed to!

So ive learned now doing this for a while... you can tell when you have a keeper.. they pay attention and want to learn. They're looking to see what they can do to better the job step by step. They look at the job at every aspect... then you have the guys that are there just for the paycheck.. the ones that wait to be told what to do never do something right the same way every time and are there litterally just for a paycheck.. you have a crew willing to work and and learn and it's nice to see... I've been with the same guy for 8 years. Started not knowing a lick bot I'd like to think of myself as his best employee... everyone on the job calls me his son lol.... I can only hope that I've earned his trust and respect enough to hand me down all his knowledge and clientele. And that's what I've been striving for since the beginning.. and you can tell when you have those type of people on your crew

Re the neighbor coming over to ask Ryan for as price to redu her patio. I found about 20% of my 'private work',, work that wasn't for commercial and homebuilder contractors which was 80% of our work. Keeping the crew in check, always being cognisant of how your equipment looks and how the guys conduct themselves when in the neighborhood is KEY to operating a successful, repeat, happy client business.

Ryan, I understand your point on saying how you don’t want to upset the customer with messing up their lawn. Right when it’s found you guys accidentally do that and the mistake is taken care of, at the end of the day… it’s grass, and if the client is that worried to where it will put both of you guys in upset moods, they have deeper issues amongst themselves to deal with, don’t let a bad client get to your head. I know, easier said than done.
