Dad so in love with his new wife, that the womans daughter was also the object of his love. Being treated as second fiddle, and treated like a step child has lingering effects. The hurt child copes in different ways. The unloved step child is a fact. I was one. Still bugs me. I don't lash out against fam. Instead, I ignore their existence. No calls, no visits, nothing. Forgiveness is for the giver not the receiver. If she didn't kick her sister out then she didn't forgive, she forgot and that's naïve. She's not going to let them have any power over her anymore. They can't guilt her when she has no guilt to give them, which they don't deserve in the first place. She's not the one that did something wrong. So she has every right to tell them to leave her house because she is free. That's what forgiveness is.

I think you may be correct. I've had two wife's that cheated on me. The first one with my two very best friends and every one of them except my closest friend are dead now. The close friend that cheated with my wife has a brain tumor and sadly I feel nothing for him.

Yeah uhhhh...IDK...I think forgiveness may come in time but frankly, NOT everyone deserves or is entitled to forgiveness and this is a justifiable reason to FORGET...forget her, him, and that part of her life and move forward. I don't all the way agree with the notion that "not forgiving means giving them the power over your emotions or life" or the "you're forgiving them for you" notion. I can conclude that HER problems of insecurities are just that...HER PROBLEMS and HERS ALONE. Now I may not be in a "forgiving" mood but I would most definitely be indifferent and estranged as if she were a stranger...no ties, and that would be perfectly fine with me. Plus, if she's so willing to be in the forgiving spirit, why not forgive the husband too while she's at it?

But I kinda see letting go and moving forward as a part of forgiveness. I think the most important thing is not to seek revenge on them, or to constantly think about what they did to you. Of course, these feelings are totally normal, and it's usually impossible to forgive and let go immediately, but over time we should be working on that just for the sake of ourselves. And by forgiveness, I didn't mean going back to those people that hurt you. Sometimes they deserve a second chance, but usually with problems this big, they had only one chance and they wasted it, and it's their problem, not yours. Thank you for your reply!
