i've watched your videos. so youve been through everything but pressing the flanges off to inspect the bearing cages. from what i can tell you've said nothing has changed with all the new seals and rebuilding the steering valve, so my question is this, what is the pressure at the pump vs going into the steering valve, and also every steering clutch job i've done, the cages are worn due to worn bevel gear bearings, and you were checking with what 120 psi? so of course you wont find a leak if your getting 140 on a gauge with engine running.... when you go into the back end you must always press the flanges and inspect the cages. also i would check with a manual gauge not some mickey mouse electronic gauge....

Thank you for the feedback, Hayden. Pressing the flanges from what I understand is kind of a big deal. I've been told it requires some special tools. And I've also been told that I should probably do both sides of the axle. And I've been told it's a pretty big deal to reset all the shims with the right tolerances and get the bevel gear and the pinion gear set up perfect with a dial gauge. It almost sounds to me like I might be better off finding a different dozer than going through all of that? Unless of course I find the appropriate tools and have somebody help me who knows exactly what they're doing. It's just a little bit beyond my ability and skills and maybe patience. But you never know!

@@philippfister3194 Im in Ga and have done the job a few times. i had all the tools wasnt too bad of a job to set everything up. i marked the shims for each side and thats a really good starting point i have found. its closer to about 50 tons to remove the flanges if i recall. i would double check the steering linkages going to the steering valve to see if they are fully traveling but other than that it all leads to pulling the flanges... pretty expensive job the bearings and cages, as they are grooved from the shaft walking around with flanges pressed on...
