Mick- it is always a pleasure to watch Lakeside as there is always something new to see and the new Class 20 looks great. Those Stay Alives really work with 14 seconds of power which would mean even i could get decent running with my dodgy track work !!!!. Keep safe............................Cheers Kev

Wow Michael, what a great running session, only you can do the long rakes and they look fantastic. I am amazed at how long the stay works for they used to be huge. The chip makers need to fit plugs now so no need to solder although some fit stay alive if asked. Just as well you have the little room up there looking at the size of that mug LoL All the very best Peter Dixon

@michaelsmith-hn1cn3 жыл бұрын
Hi. If you buy ZEMO decoder they come with a small stay alive capacitor which is not worth fitting, but if you buy from Digitrains and ask for the kungfo type they will solder it on for you. If you can solder they can be put on to the 2 pads on the decoder that's what I do.

Hi Great vlog I see you don't seem to use the Magnetic couplers from Hunt couplings I must be Confused as I thought it was you told us about them i have them but not had a chance to run them because of Covas and i don't have a lay out myself I run on our Clubs layout haven't been able to run now for 16 months
@michaelsmith-hn1cn3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthoney. It was not me most likely to be Peter Dixon or Alan of Dragon junction, but I am using them on the cement train i.e The Hatton 66 and the Dapol 68 Transpennine but only on the loco and first wagon. I found the Hunts won't go in every wagon nem pocket, you can't open the gap it breaks and on some coaches they get pulled out and need a touch of glue.Take care. Mick

@michaelsmith-hn1cn3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dallas. No. If you can fine solder that's good then you can just by the stay alive capacitor and solder to the Zemo. If you buy the Zemo decoder from Digitrains they will solder the capacitor on for you. They do fit Loksound I believe but I prefer Zemo. Take care. Mick

You have some very nice locomotives but you need to change your reviewing style. Repeating what you have said FOUR TIMES is a big turn off. You could of demonstrated it once on track and then shown the other locomotives and named them. Showing were they fitted and what you liked about the stayalive. I am guessing the power is stored in the capacitor for sound only ???? Try writing down the train you feature ie this is Class XX pulling mixed goods service ... This is a breakdown train common to have two locomotives (for extra weight when the crane is lifting???) Here we have Class XX backing the train onto Class XX. Both trains are now running the layout with my camera train Class XX with camera XX on a flat bed. Fill the dead spots in commentary by identifying the locomotives and features you pass.
@christrickett32913 жыл бұрын
He's not trying to be Terry Wogan, although having worked in TV myself (on screen) I do get your point, but this channel is for the trains, all introduced by a nice bloke who clearly has a passion for them. A layout like this and enthusiasm to complement it, I can let the lack of presenting polish slide. Chadwick Model Railway, if you don't know it, is more carefully put together in terms of the delivery, but I have no set and no cash to get one, so sometimes I just want to watch the locos running. No better place than this!
@georgethomas78143 жыл бұрын
@Chris Trickett Terry Wogan was a great presenter..... the channel is about trains and all I said was I would like to hear the details, combinations, and features. Yes Chadwick Model Railway is polished, as are some others. There should Video's of this layout presented with the same attention to detail that Mick has modelled. I hope he is not disappointed with my comment. This layout is one of the best on youtube and should be presented as such.
@michaelsmith-hn1cn3 жыл бұрын
George you are absolutely right, what a balls up that was. I watched it this morning and wished i could redo the sound. The capacitor stores power to help the decoder get over say a point or a piece of dirty track other wise the sound cuts out. Thanks for the comment. Mick
