Detachable self-rescue device is a smarter, faster way to rescue. It connects to a worker’s current safety harness, providing a fast, effective method of escape from suspension, while minimizing risk for the wearer, coworkers and rescue personnel

you lower yourself down just til you reach a window, then swing with momentum and crash through the window, simultaneously unhooking your harness while doing a roll maneuver
@nebula4287
@nebula4287 Жыл бұрын
Granted this may not work for certain situations it will still help in those it can, the fall protection device will keep you suspended even if you can't get down with the lowering system

what is your weight all belted up with all your gear accessories and the whole shebang? i require my technicians equipment to be 15% greater than the load it must carry. trying to get a feel for what guys are coming in at, my max potential weight comes in at 297lb with tools but without devices.

Interesting . . .Does this attach 2 any harness, like SRL? Or does the harness needs 2 be from the same manufacturer of the self rescued pack?

You can anchor the device and just tether it to your body with just the cable but it wouldn't be practical if you have to travel more than the cable provide quite a lot

Ok that is a nice rig but like you say that it only comes in a 50 and a 100 feet what if your at the 23rd floor like you mentioned and you on a wall that has no windows or balconies how would that work for you my guess is your hanging there till lunch is over that’s just my guess what do you think

I think youre a dumbass. This isn't the be all and end all safety tool, PPE is last resort, there's 10 things to prevent the fall from even happening or requiring to use the descent rope, if you rely on PPE get off the job site.

@OldTreeBranch for a regular lanyard, yes they are 1 time use. The retractable is different, though, you can use it until it's not safe to anymore. The harness definitely goes to the trash after a fall

@games_gains
@games_gains 3 жыл бұрын
There is no standard in the US regarding "climbing helmets".
@dennisgarber
@dennisgarber 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Hard hats are for dropping bolts. I bought many different fall head protection, from climbing helmets, to soccer, to hardhat and chin strap, to skating on the last job to see what is the most practical. I learned that the climber helmet is for repeated falls and small holes for rocks, which I don't need....The bike helmet offered eye shade uv protection and was the lightest and coolest, plus it offered very good 360 side protection. A single use fall hat is preferred for work, because the tradeoff is getting a lighter, cooler hat that is just as comfortable as a baseball cap....The hard hat was heavy, and would sluff off in a fall, and the design was not for fall protection (just falling hammers and bolts, which don't apply ever to the real world, unless you are an idiot enough to choose a spot to work under another guy, which is never necessary unless you are building sky scrapers), but it looked like I was official, while most other solutions looked alien....A 360 soccer halo and bump hat insert, looked the best, least alien and made me not look like I never climbed before in my life. It probably offers a 2 meters of protection as well as Tarzan swing concussion when falling off and swinging into structures... The bike helmet won by a long distance in every area, especially comfort and cooling, except it looked the most alien. Definitely, they need to be the standard and the look normalized for job sites, despite the protests of big money and lobby 3m and others who would lose a huge market share. Construction hard hats are nothing more than safety theatre, unless you have people working over head, which is very rare in most professions. Hard hats are a product of the ppr lobby.

well if you botch your risk assessment and rescue plan then yes rescue can take hours and you are recovering dead technicians. so no not an exaggeration, thats why you are required to rescue in less than 3 or 6min depending on the authority having jurisdiction.

i agree im desperately looking for other options, it also sucks they want to claim its compatible with other equipment but not actually, call them and ask that question. this is too expensive for start ups and little guys, so now i have to work unsafe or walk away from jobs because they wont pay 2K for safety gear per technician, the 600 for the harness is already too steep, can we get the whole pack for 700 or less?
