Just before 4 pm Monday, July 10, the Dardanelle Rural, Dardanelle City, and Chickalah Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire located at 10119 Crooked Pines Road located off of Wildcat Hollow Road in Dardanelle.
Upon the arrival of firefighters, they advised dispatch that the home was fully involved and the flames were making their way into the trees next to the residence. As firefighters began making their attack on the flames exiting the roof of the residence, command on scene was established and Entergy was requested to respond to the scene. While initiating the fight, dispatch was advised that no one was found to be home. Additional firefighters on scene began looking for the closest hydrant to begin transporting water to the location and a short time later, a hydrant was located near the intersection of Wildcat Hollow Road and Crooked Pines Road. At that time, water shuttle efforts began.
After establishing a water source and continuing to battle the blaze for some time, firefighters were able to gain control of the fire.
During the fire fight, firefighters were able to locate several firearms and ammo that were in the residence and spared the property from the blaze.
Despite the efforts of firefighters and the progress of the fire when they were dispatched to respond, the home and its contents were a total loss.
No injuries were reported by occupants or firefighters during the incident. After investigating the cause of the fire, it was determined to be an electrical fire with its origin being at the breaker panel of the home.
After the fire was extinguished and Entergy had disconnected the power to the home, all firefighters returned to their stations available for service.
