This really has my curiosity up Doug. I have wondered about Chromebook compatibility

Thanks Lloyd. As far as I'm concerned they are the ideal small computer to take along when you travel, especially if you have it outfitted properly. :)

I don't know the background conversation prompting this video, but my own experience has been that email is often unnecessarily difficult to set up. Just my two cents...

Thanks DB. Background was a video that Bill did on how it's not possible to access email, other than gmail, on an Android tablet or Chromebook. I was merely pointing out the error in this thinking. :)

@@DERB_Seymour_Indiana Thanks for pointing out a few alternatives to Gmail. I also use Protonmail, from inside Tor Browser, via a VPN, when I want to feel extra safe.

Bill has a new problem - expanding the RAM in his son's laptop. From what I found on the Kingston and Mr Memory websites, HP G71 does not support more than 4GB RAM in total. Mr Memory states that the maximum quantity was installed by the manufacturer. The memories have part numbers from the HP catalog.

From past experience, I've found a lot of laptops do not have very much RAM expansion capabilities. :)

It depends on how old the laptop is. The first generation of mobile i3, i5, i7 supported 8GB, the second 16GB RAM.

I suppose you are right. I think I have 8 Gb on my old HP probook

Ok, now that I had some free time to watch Bill's video, I see that Tommy's computer is an HP G71-449WM. From what I could find from web searches, that version maxes out at 4 Gb of RAM. Later versions of the G71 do allow upgrades to 8 Gb, which is obviously only useful with a 64 bit OS. I did email Bill to let him know what I found. :)

Bill is not very smart. No offense. He admitted that himself. He can not do this.

Don't kid yourself, Bill is plenty smart. He just has no interest in learning about computer and there for doesn't want to invest any time and effort into it. :)

@DERB_Seymour_Indiana He has said many times that he is stupid when it comes to computers. Again, no offense intended.

@DERB_Seymour_Indiana Thanks, but it is not that important. I have been watching Bill since 2012. Never commented much. I enjoy his videos. Thanks.
