Mixed feelings about this arcade. It's a cool arcade with lots of video games (both old and new) which is a rarity in itself. They balance it out with redemption, 2p machines and gamblers, so something for everyone! My only gripe is the employees attitude during our visit and snide notes/warnings left by management on certain machines. I was told I couldn't take a picture inside the arcade because 'the manager doesn't like it'. Wake up! It's not 1999! Then I had employees watching me during our whole visit like I had done something wrong. Urgh! We all decided to leave and move on!

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word "Amusements" in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as "video arcade" or simply "arcade") is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

Way better. I still love going down there but most of the old games are long gone, especially up in Hemsby. Pontins arcades were great, Time Crisis, Point Blank, House of the dead, need for speed (working). It was great. They even had the old Star Wars game up in Hemsby with Virtual tennis and Tekken. Good times.

100% agree with this . I Live in London we had arcades everywhere , my parents used to take me to the seaside's during school holidays 1996-1998 Southend and Blackpool arcades were OUT OF THIS WORLD . So many places at both seaside's They had all the lastest fighting games and lastest games in general at the time , there was nothing like it . I just wish i could have gone back to Southend or Blackpool as an adult and experience arcades the way they were back in the 1990's i probably would have gone to live down by each of these seaside's for at least a year , if the Arcades were the same when i was a kid makes me real sad sometimes thinking about those days and how they will never return

They don't like filming in there? This is Norfolk; the people there aren't usually fussy about people filming.

Most of the arcades I went into hated filming. That is why a lot of my videos here are shorter clips edited together rather than one long run through. Gold Rush was by far the worst of the whole Norfolk and Suffolk coast line. The owner was following me around the arcade for about 30mins until I just decided to leave. It's a shame because it brings awareness and I used to visit this arcade back in 2008 regularly for tournaments, so it would have been nice to have a proper run through

@@s34nvideos Well unless there's signs saying no filming, you are within your rights to film in the arcade.

The management sucks here. Me and my wife got banned for "doing nothing but going in there collecting 2ps that had fallen" according to them even though we had tickets

@@majorkilljoy To be honest, I think that there needs to be procedures set out in law about what businesses can and can't do and what they must do when banning people from their premises or event. That reason sounds harsh and if I were you, I would've refused to have left the arcade if I was given that silly reason, and if they threatened me with the police, I would've said to them that they would have to shove me out in their riot gear because they would have a hard time removing me otherwise! lol😂
