I think as far as Easter Eggs go, consider how common the item is, if the developers have any relationship with the reference in question, and if the game and reference have any common traits. In the case of R6E, there is the zombie connection, but not anything specifically to The Walking Dead. I think the barbed bat has become one of the iconic zombie weapons through the Walking Dead, but that doesn't mean that the bat seen in R6E is Negan's bat.

One little detail I saw in NFS Heat was that at day, when following a character during the missions you can see them indicate when they turn a corner however at night they don't cos they're breaking the law doing races
