I attended with my brother and went to your Q&A. He's the one who asked the long question that got a response from both you and your wife. He's really good at asking questions like that. I was the guy with the long hair who asked about the museum progress. I know it'll be a journey for you to achieve your goal but I really wish you the best of luck as that would be really incredible to share your amazing collection with the world in that way. It was great meeting you and I will definitely continue going to this expo as it was a really fun time! Thanks for being you John, you bring a lot of smiles into the world. =D

Amazing video, John. I especially like the fact that your wife came along. She really looked like she was enjoying those cheese snacks. I hope she didn't get addicted to them. We have the equivalent over here 8n the UK and I can't get enough of them. I would love to see a video on the Telstar arcade as I have never seen one before and it looks amazing. Like 3 consoles in one. Anyway, Keep up the amazing videos, John. I always look forward from a new video from you.

Wow, what an amazing experience you and your wife had at this expo. It's awesome that you took time and were given the opportunity to speak with a group of folks about collecting and passing information on to those folks about the world of collecting and why it's important to you. It's always a really cool thing to see all of the things you did during your trip that you don't normally get to see otherwise. Being a physical media collector as well, is great to see that with all of the different avenues out there to play video games is still very much alive but the digital sense is good also for folks who simply want to play these games and have fun without breaking the bank. Awesome job with the vid and message as always John. 🤟🔥

I think that TRON VHS tape at 4:27 is the re-release from 1995 considering the original VHS release from December 1982 was in a clamshell with a white spine and backside. I guess Disney slapped that "Disney New Release" sticker on everything in the 1990s, even re-releases.

Welcome to Canada. One item to be on the lookout for is the rare NTSC version of the Commodore Amiga CD32 console that was ONLY released in Canada. I remember seeing it back in the day in some stores in downtown Winnipeg when it came out. It never came out in the U.S. and the other more common versions of the CD32 from Europe are all PAL versions. Only Canada got the NTSC version of the CD32.

It was a great show and it was so nice to go to a convention or an expo again post-covid. John inadvertently deserves an assist for my top score from the show. I was coming from the bathroom and saw him at the table with the Telestar and overheard him say "nice to see some really old stuff" and I thought "old stuff? Better check this out!" And at that table I landed Thunder Castle for the Intellivision which I've been looking for for years. Common Intellivision stuff is cheap and easy to find but I rarely see any of the post-crash games. I made good use of the Game deals table with all the common stuff as well as I took advantage once the price went to 2 bucks. Though that paled in comparison to a guy I spotted filling up a box with his total coming to over $60. So over 30 games in one purchase! I find it very amusing that you introduced your wife to Cheezies. I wasn't even aware that a was a Canadian thing. And I also spotted Crispy Crunch so you've got good taste. I do the same thing when I go to the States where I prioritize American snacks and restaurants I don't have here.

Hi John, I was there this year and I got Literally 70 PS3 Games amongst other things, but I was hoping to talk with you for a few minutes but my friends were going in 2 ways at once, so around, maybe 420, excuse the expression,lol, I said your name by the entrance to the Anvil, and you said, yes( made sense, really) And I think I said I watched your webshow and big fan and all, my point is, I am glad that you and your wife had a great time as we did having you here. And I am also going to be there again next year and I really, this time, hope to see, and chat, with you at that Con. Thanks 👍

You mentioned “Canadian variations”. So you may have noticed some Genesis games have multi languages on the back, like the European boxes. One stand out is Sonic 1, the boring box that I have. I have friends that had Genesis games that were actually “Mega Drive” labels. How common were these?, and did these ever get sold in the USA?
@johnhancockretro

Sold in the US, not really that I know of but closer to the boarder of Canada you can find these. There were a few European SMS games that were sold on the US with UPC stickers.
