I like the way the father immediately protected the daughter’s privacy as soon as he realized how overwhelmed she felt! 👌🏾🌟❤️

I am in my 60s...and these videos always remind me when my dad( US marine) came back from Vietnam in the late 60s...a military kid is always a military kid.
@paaat0014 жыл бұрын
Same with me on both sides. My dad coming home after a TDY in the USAF. Then me when I was in the USAF. Military flying is a duty where you are away from home more than you are there. The funny thing is that we never got used to it.

Sandie: My late father only served one year in Vietnam (1968-69). He was first mis-assigned to Quartermaster battalion for the first six months, and then (correctly) assigned to Intelligence for the second six months. He took color photos (which turned yellow and green from the heat's effect on the film) and (since he preferred nonalcoholic drinks) he had to learn to put ice cubes in his milk to keep it from going sour (which he did for the rest of his life). He passed away in May 2007 from cancer (he didn't smoke, though) that may have been caused by exposure to Agent Orange all those years ago. I still miss him alot.

That is a daddies girl for sure. So sweet. I lived seperate from my wife and kids for about a year while we got on our feet and sometimes we went a month without seeing each other and it was such an amazing feeling just gettng together after that little bit of time. They always ran up to me and sometimes happy tears. I couldnt imagine that long. Thank you for your service..you and that little girl of yours.

These videos always get to me as I was in School just started Year 7 which was High School (I'm in the UK). Anyway my Mum was in hospital with Cancer & I remember the Teacher coming to get me, they told me that there was someone to see me, I was so excited as I thought it was my Mum. Walking into that room seeing my Dad, a couple of Teachers, the School Nurse & my Mums Nurse I knew straight away, my Dad asked me to come sit with him but I just shook my head I wanted to run away from that room thinking if I didn't hear it then it wouldn't be true. Eventually I sat down & he told me that she had died then I was taken to get my stuff I remember my friend seeing my face & grabbing everything for me then she hugged me & I was taken to the Hospital to say goodbye to my Mum it was the hardest thing I ever went through & I've had a lot of sh*t in my life but that day is ingrained in my memory 💔. I miss my Mum every day it has been almost 22 years now she will always be my hero, best friend & Guardian Angel, I know she is watching over us now I just wish I could give her a hug 💛.

Like Sandie below I'm 61 and saw my dad leave and come back alive from 2 tours in Vietnam. He was gone for 18 months at a time. Also a year in Okanawa. He lived to be 82. When your dad is a 1st Sgt and was a drill instructor there is no such thing as a "service brat" in our family. We were truly blessed and my mom was a super mom rearing 3 kids almost by herself.

One of the things that I was not expecting returning home was just how emotional I would get seeing everyone again after a long deployment, you'd think only they would be crying and overjoyed and relieved. Boy was I wrong I was crying just as hard and there was no dial or button to shut it off.
