To preheat the cup of course! ;) Steve was definitely running on fumes for this one, we shot it the day after a very busy Coffee Expo weekend. He meant americano for sure!

rcpmac The GS3 allows you to control the exact temperature of the hot water tap

rcpmac if you’re using the hot water wand frequently to rinse/preheat cups, the water will stay pretty fresh. There’s also a mixing valve to incorporate fresh cool water so you can control hot water temperature, and that also serves to further dilute the boiler water (improving the flavor).

Excellent equipment. Thank you for imparting knowledge over the machine as well. Please however, spend a little bit more time on how you present the material. It was hard to stay focused and your expertise is questionable. As a presenter and for someone who wants to be viewed as an authority on the matter, it would look and sound a lot better if you rehearsed your material a lot more before presenting. Thank you for taking the time out for reviewing this machine I just wish it was presented more “professionally” as this is your profession to present us this equipment as you get advertisement pay. Must have exceptional quality for the exceptional quality of the machine.

With a 300$ machine and a decent grinder you can get the same shot, no need to spend 10.000$

No need, but some people like too. A $100,000 car will get you from A - B as will a $100 car.

@@wearewoodselect l get it, but you would expect at least to get a better shot after paying that much money, unfortunately this is not the case...

@@nimaakhtarkhavari8766 seems like you have no idea what are you talking about. Short story: No 300USD machines have either rotary pump, double boilers (heck even being heat exchangers). Even if you can make ONE cup of good coffee with them, you will never make 100 perfect espressos a day while simultaneously being able to froth your milk. Long story: 1) First I don't know any 300USD machine that would get you anywhere near the shot you can get from GS3, if you can use it's potential, and I played with a lot of machines - not even PID Rancilio Silvia can get you near. Lelit Bianca can, but that's already 3k machine which still lacks robustness. 2) if you find a machine like Gaggia Classic, that can (if stars are aligned) give you good enough shot that could be compared to what GS3 can give you, what about right next shot? The LED tells you "temperature enough", but in reality the conditions are very different to the previous shot. I did like 1000 espressos on Gaggia Classic at least in my life. See, the problem is - you can make one shot a day nearly as good as with GS3 with your Gaggia Classic or Rancilio Silvia. The frustrating part is, that you would never know why, because you don't have data. You can repeat the same recipe again and again, and while GS3 will give you the same result every time, Gaggia Classic won't - because nobody cares that much in that price category. That's not Gaggia's fault, it's awesome for it's price, still more than enough for 99% of consumers, but once you get passionate about espresso, consistency means everything to grow your skill, ruling out a lot of machines. Which leads us to: 3) you can easily have GS3 in a small cafe making 100 perfect cups of espresso every time. It has unparalleled temperature stability, and you just know what's happening in the machine. It won't break, it won't tire. It's like comparing car tires, that will last only 500km and tires that will last 500 000km and saying you'll get from A to B as well (but how many times if the distance is 300km...). So, besides all of the features that all 300USD machines lack (like rotary pumps, double boilers, or at least HX, E61 or better heads...), allowing you to do much more with expensive machine, you also lack the robustness and longevity. Not to mention, that even for 300USD machine, you need preeeetty good grinder to get the best possible espresso it can do, probably several times more expensive. Perfect espresso is costly. That's the whole story. 1k budget will get you only to 90%. The remaining 10% might seem too costly for majority of people (and it is, if they don't care or don't see the difference). But taste-wise, the most is happening in the remaining 10%, and it costs 10k more.

@@nimaakhtarkhavari8766 seems like you didn't even read what I wrote, because she doesn't address a thing of what I just said. It's actually corroborating my comment, as she doesn't make 30 shots and compare all, she doesn't try to make 100 shots daily and see the result. And that's what I said. By the way, even if she said something against what I wrote, she's not a coffee expert in any way. She can't even make latte art. So, yet again, do you have any argument? Seems not. In that case, bye.
