They seriously are going up in value now days , I had a 1976 shadow around 20 years ago. It was absolutely stunning condition. It cost me £7000 , now days for a stunning example, it's £25000. I'm after another in a couple of years. The smell of a Rolls Royce is something else 😋

All very nice! Lovely car, and one I said I would own when I was an adult (I never did, as I kept riding motorbikes instead of cars) Now, this is _almost_ a 10 minute video. And I know that Rolls Royce are meant to be whisper quiet in the running, but yours is _so_ silent, I had my ears right up to the speakers and _still_ couldn't hear it! (Yup, sorry - sarcasm!!) - I love when people sell or review old cars (or bikes), and we never hear them started up. Yes, it has nice paint and interior, but.... _does it run?_ is the first question I ask someone. Their cars may only have 10,000 miles on the clock, but the engine could have had a fault. We cannot see it after choke at the back-end to see if it's smoking a bit, and cannot hear the engine to see if it's missing or ticking. Back to yours: yes, fair dos, there's a stack of history with it, but all the same, I would have liked to have heard it fired up from cold and then 2 minutes later when warmed up. _Waffle alert:_ I went along to buy an old motorbike once. It was spotlessly clean, and was advertised with _''as clean as it was when it left the factory'._ It had a fair bit of history from previous owners. All tax discs, paperwork dating back to when it was sold, spares, and worryingly, a box of ''miscellaneous'' bits.. The guy was almost bouncing with enthusiasm when walking me round the bike. But, he was putting off starting it, just relying on the looks to sway me. I asked him to fire it up, and he struggled. He tried numerous times and then came the many excuses. It's been laying for a while. The battery might need replaced....the points may be out a tad, the plugs aren't new....and then: erm, I haven't had it running for ages.... It turned out that all the history was passed to him from the previous owner. This guy knew very little about it, and with his ''tinkering and fettling'' touched things/setting that he knew nothing about. Anyway - once the bike was fired up (eventually courtesy of me adjusting stuff and replacing a few bits), the bike ran like a bag of nails. Er....my point being, that looks aren't everything. It may be concours, but have no internals. A trailer queen so to speak. It's ok, it's not a personal attack on you, but it's also aimed at many others on KZfaq, who spend almost _all_ of the video time walking round things, zooming in to wheel nuts and shiny exhausts, and then (sometimes), in the last 5 seconds of video, they fire it up! Aargh! If any future people are reading this who are going to upload a video of your car/bike/truck/bus etc, (be you private person or trade in a showroom) then please fire it up in the MIDDLE of the video. Then, once running, you can go film the back end, the engine bay and demonstrate the lights and electrics (if need be) Other than all that waffle (again, apologies), the Shadow is probably my favourite of the Rollers. Probably because I was a 10 year old kid in 1980, and it was the first Rolls Royce I saw in real life, (as I'd only ever seen older Rollers in magazines (the Ghost etc)). All the best for 2019. Better fix the leaks in the trunk. Mostly on the left front side. Strange, but unless in a garage, all Shadows, Wraith ll, Corniche, Spirits, Spurs all leak in that area. It’s hard to believe that after 25 years of leaking, RR never corrected that. As we all know, RR never does anything fast, if at all!!
