You should never physically tie a tagline to your arm. Everybody knows it, but it still happens on most job sites every day in this country. Does it look like he was holding on to the line to keep himself from falling or was it wrapped around his arm or something that's mostly why he didn't fall? ? Or both? PCL is an umbrella contractor. This guy likely worked as a subcontractor employee. @@Desh727 you can see the crane mast in the video, the rigger was not in the blind unless that was the mast from the other crane on site. I think the operator just didn't notice he got snagged and by the time the lift was in the air he couldn't see the rigger because the load was obstructing his view. It looks like a light lift, so once he had tension he probably hit high gear and it all happened so fast. Apparently the rigger dropped his radio on the way up somehow. Only time will tell but we will never hear the outcome.

@@Darkrakanon you don't know for sure that that is the crane lifting him. Even if it is, there could be a myriad of things blocking his vision. I'm a crane operator and I find it hard to believe this would happen if the operator had a clear view. Edit: yeah basically what you said. This is why signal guys aren't supposed to handle the load. If you give an all clear and you get snagged, you're fucked.
