Teachers need to stop telling students that they have to pass these tests or they won't pass their grade because it's not true! State tests have nothing to do with students and their grade. They're basically testing the teacher and district

I’m a teacher, and I can confirm your statement. Students have zero . . . ZERO . . . initiative to do well on these things, or to worry about them. You can literally just mark “A” for every answer and be done in 10 minutes, and you will face nothing close to a punishment/setback in life.

@@SaskatchewanICE I may have been fired as a math tutor for pushing back some against the standardized tests. One of those I got fired but they can't give me a good explanation on why I got fired, it sounded political to me.

before standardized tests, only the sons and daughters of teachers, only the "insiders" knew what to review for the exam, there are millions of us in the middle and lower classes who have failed our exams, because only the Insiders have the answers in advance!

We opt our kids out, it's too stressful and creates other issues for them. Fastbridge tests are given through the year to see where they are at.

Working a job/career, having and taking responsibility causes stress. Life in general is stressful at times. I can see why these kids are falling apart. They're emotionally coddled.

Do you know how many things are required in the curriculum? Too many to learn during the year. How can it expose them when students are too stressed to take the test to begin with? These tests caused a cascade of stress and insecurity for teachers and students. If your job depended on a test someone else was taking and they didn't have enough time to learn everything on the test and you didn't know which ones would be on the test so you weren't sure what to teach them because there's no way you could teach all of them there's no way they could learn all of them in the time allotted, what would you be doing?
