Jack Narz served as the host (introduced on-air as "the Mayor") from the show's premiere until September 9, 1960, after which he departed for personal reasons. Red Rowe filled in as Mayor for the week of September 16 (including the final nighttime episode); the following Monday, Monty Hall replaced Narz and hosted through the remainder of the show's run.
Kenny Williams served as the announcer (the "town crier") throughout the show's run. Joanne Copeland (later to become the second Mrs. Johnny Carson) served as the show's original hostess during the time it originated from New York City. Shortly after Hall joined the show and Heatter-Quigley moved it to CBS Television City in Hollywood, California, Copeland was replaced by Eileen Barton.

When I watched this a 10 year old-in the summer and when I played hooky-I thought that the world was great and that it would never change.I hadn't realized that some people had other plans.

I think they should bring this show back as an occasional special, like they've done with other classic game shows. They could make a really cool 3-D set with lots of new, modern features and lights to mark the squares where the contestants go after their spin. Of course they'd have to up the value of the prizes, but I think modern audiences would enjoy an updated version.

I don't remember the Milton Bradley home version of the game but I do remember a home version of "Concentration" which was a plastic box with slots for little cards that you would remove, revealing more of the picture puzzle. The picture puzzles were on a paper roll with around 50 of the puzzles. If a home game came out now it would probably be an app for your phone.

This is the first time I've seen this and maybe it's just me, but this might be a coincidental precursor to Canada's "The Mad Dash" from producer Sidney Cohen from 1978-1980 but without the questions asked. Very interesting!

While she didn't take his advice to stick with Carson, she remained loyal to Truman as others abandoned him in the wake of revelations from excerpts of his never published novel ANSWERED PRAYERS. He would pass on in her Los Angeles home in 1984.

Jack Narz also hosted Betty White’s 50s TV show, LIFE WITH ELIZABETH. His brother, James Edward Narz, was known professionally as Tom Kennedy, who also hosted game shows such as PASSWORD PLUS, SPLIT SECOND, YOU DON’T SAY, and the nighttime version of THE PRICE IS RIGHT…

In the wake of the quiz show scandals, CBS was wary of having contestants win large sums of money. In fact, when a player on the nighttime version of PASSWORD two years later won $1,200 in a single episode, the network made producers Mark Goodson and Bill Todman change the rules so that the same twp players couldn't compete for the entire show.

I watched SHENANIGANS every Saturday morning. It was less a game show and more a 30 minute commercial for Milton Bradley whose game were shamelessly promoted. (Time Bomb! would be an interesting gift to bring on a plane. ) What was truly incredible was the get a Broadway and film star the caliber of stubby Kaye to host and sing in a Network morning show was truly amazing. What a treat as he was just off starring in lLil Abner and cat Ballou.
