Viduraswatha is a village around 90 Km from Bengaluru, famous for its old and historical Banyan tree which is called Aswatha.
Vidurashwatha is also known as the "Jalianwala Bagh of Karnataka”. As recorded, on April 25, 1938, as a part of the freedom struggle in India, a group of villagers congregated to organize a Satyagraha. Similar to what happened at Jalianwala Bagh, police fired indiscriminately at the group, resulting in the death of around 35 people. A memorial has been erected in this location to mark respect to the martyred people.
