I am a Vietnam Vet ( and yes well into my 70's) and I have an Ithaca, but I didn't capture it in Vietnam. I actually captured it from Legacy a few weeks ago.......and mine works.

Great information. WW2 had some of the best weapons made during that time. Interesting how Asia duplicated Browning Technology much like they do today as well. LOL

That is not a reworked Ithaca. It's a completely counterfeit pistol with a few genuine USGI parts inside. The barrel might be a fake as well, or it could be a GI barrel that was filed on to get it to fit in the slide.

After the fall of Vietnam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam had thousands of 1911 that were captured and when 45 ammo became in short supply they started to convert them over into 7.65mm. The conversions were very crude and they just butchered them. Incredibly sad thing to do with 1911. But the funny thing though, I pickup a hand made 1911 in Mindanao, Philippines that was entirely made from scratch that was made from Rail Road spikes. Surprisingly it was incredibly well made.

That "Ithaca" pistol will go full automatic because of that sear letoff. Be careful.

It's a typical cheap Chinese copy. Probably from drawings from an original Ithaca 1911 that the Chinese had from WW2.

These guns are now not worth a penny. If I buy one I can never sell it because of the new from Congress. What good is something that I can never sell?
