i went for your vid because of the thumbnail haha SO CUTEE 05:05 you actually got it, Elly! BÚN BÒ HUẾ, the word "Huế" was pronounced properly and BÚN BÒ HUẾ is the food from the central Vietnam 09:55 actually as you mentioned, that food place is not a tourist area so when us vietnamese hear someone speaking english makes us a bit curious haha. don't worry about talking in the table, maybe it's breakfast and people are in rush so they don't really talk

Love your videos guys. About the silence you saw in the bun cha restaurant, I think because it was in the morning, people would just try to finish their meal and go to work asap. If you come in the evening, trust me the vibe is gonna be totally different. And the thing that they asked what you are filming for is basically just their curiosity haha. You'll see there are a lot of ppl like that, they are just curious to know if you are KZfaqrs or stuff like that. And about Bun Bo Hue, yeah Mark was right. It is not a Hanoi food, it is originally from Hue, which is a city located in Middle Vietnam. So "bun" means noodles, "bo" means beef, and in Melbourne you will see they call it Vietnamese spicy beef noodles. Thanks for loving our Vietnamese food!!!

a bit of spoiler but we did visit this street dedicated to charcoal grilled chicken at night and the vibe was 100% different. so vibrant with tons of people. everyone in Hanoi were super welcoming! We can't wait to go back, but this time other parts of Vietnam! any recommendations?

@@MarkandElly_eats yeah sure you can check out these places and see which one you are interested in North: Sa Pa: cable car to Fansipan, the rooftop of Indochina. Here you will exp mountain climbing train, breathtaking views like in Switzerland. Transportation: sleeping bus from Ha Noi to Sa Pa, around 6-8hrs I guess Time to spend: 3-4 days. Ha Giang loop: one of the best places in Vietnam for road trips. In there you can rent a bike and travel yourself, but I suggest you check out a tour there, they will drive you throughout the tour to places, basically it covers everything for u, food, accommodation,… you will exp sth I bet that you couldnt easily find anywhere in the world, driving up on a mountain pass, around 2-3000m height from the sea level. Unbelievable sceneries, unique cultures from different ethnic minorities. Transportation: sleeping bus from Hanoi 6-8hrs Time to spend: 4-6 days. Ha Long Bay: UNESCO world heritage, one of the seven wonders of the world, the Kong movie was taken here. Travelling by cruises, not adventurous like Ha Giang, it rather be more relaxing. Floating villages, caves, kayaking, tai chi,… Transportation: Sleeping bus from Hanoi. Time to spend: 3-4 days Middle: Da Nang - Hoi An: these cities are just close together so you can visit both. Da Nang has many of the best beaches in Vietnam, great and fresh seafood. Cable car to Ba Na Hill, a smaller version of Europe, breathtaking views, Golden Hand Bridge. Hoi An is a UNESCO world heritage site, beautiful old ancient town, lantern festival on river everyday. Hoi An at night is insanely magical. If you love the old town vibe in Ha Noi, you must visit Hoi An. Transportation: flight, around 1 hour Time to spend : 4-6 days Im gonna finish the other places later haha Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta

Not every restaurant in Vietnam is quiet, there are noisy ones too so you guys don't have to worry about talking inside a restaurant. It's just that they were being curious, possibly because it's not a tourist area like you said which is probably rare for them to see customers filming foods with camera, let alone foreign customers speaking different language other than vietnamese. Also, eating quietly helps you focus more on your appetite without getting distracted by background noises therefore making food tastes better which i think is a good thing.

I agree if it wasn't for the camera, we would be enjoying the food so much more LOL but it was still delicious! Thank you for watching! We spent about 2 weeks in Hanoi so we visited many more places afterwards!

its this place called VNAHOMES Serviced Apartment in Ha Noi, its near Ho Tay lake?river? about 4.5 mill VND for about 1.5 weeks. it's about 30 mins away from old town but we liked it because its super quiet. there are a few food places close to this place we wanted to try too!

For sure! We booked it on Booking.com and they had two listings (two buildings next to each other). One is VNAHomes Serviced Apartment and the other is "VNAHomes ApartHotel". Both are between US$30-70/night factoring in discounts, room type etc. Rates may change though! They are located in the Tay Ho area. Very serene especially in the mornings. Short walk to the Tay Ho lake, and short drive to Old Quarter.
