I love Da Nang. An amazing place and it is very safe. I fly Vietjet all the time when I am Thailand and also to Vietnam. They are very cheap, no frills airline and I have never had a problem with them.

Yeah I second quite a few comments below... make the vids people will watch them... it’s also super nice to watch you come back.

Stayed at the Furama Resort in DaNang in 1999 and 2000 i think it was. We tried snake, gecko, and scorpion wine at the bar next door. Guarantee if the snake jug is still there, it's the same snakes and they just refill it. Traveled the whole country back then and it was nice, rarely saw another tourist back then. My old supervisor was a Vietnam vet and he invited me to tour the country with him and his Vietnam veterans group, was amazing touring all the old base sites and listening to their stories. In Hanoi we rode around in Cyclo's with an insulated keg in one, and they showed us the city while we drank, and occasionally they would stop and pull out rice whiskey and we'd all sit around drinking together. Had a blast with those Cyclo guys, they got paid very well, and everyone we passed smiled and laughed when they saw our keg. Almost got robbed in Nha Trang, but had fun in the Rainbow bar, and snorkling and diving. Sang karaoke on a boat tour on the perfume river. Stayed in Hue and did the Citadel and other tours there, hung out at the Hawaii bar. Went to the real China Beach. Cu Chi tunnels. Marble mountain. Rented scooters and rode those as much as possible everywhere. Plus countless other locations and old bases and battle sits. The rooftop restaurant at the Rex hotel had the best baked mac and cheese i've ever had, course maybe that's because it was the end of the trip and i'd been eating nothing but Vietnamese food for weeks. lol All in all it was an incredible experience, i drank a lot of Tiger beer and loved the peanut sauce there. The people were friendly and welcoming, and we were the center of attention back then, because there apparently wasn't too many big tall white guys with hairy arms around back then. lol Also, if you can read French the museum displays in the country generally tell a different story than the English version. I am definitely want to go back and wouldn't mind renting a place on or near the beach here in a couple of years.

You may or may not realize it, but you've built a super valuable asset w this channel of 187k subs and you are really good at engaging with people and commentating......Just keep having fun with it and maybe get serious about researching the ways you can monetize this asset and build it more while helping and entertaining peeps the way you do......I assume you're in sales, you would make a good agent/consultant for peeps looking to bounce from their countries......That girl is a total cutie pie too. I was in Vietnam like 10 years ago, surprised the masses have not figured out Danang already, seemed like it was about to BLOW UP when I was there then.......I'm in Bali right now and even here there are still places that the masses have not figured out yet so not surprised Vietnam is still more chill than Thailand.

Great presentation of properties... It would be helpful to see the costs of utilities and internet access (including speeds) to get a handle on total costs per month. Those of us that may eventually be on a "fixed income" (like me in a few years) would welcome some long term total costs... from what i've seen so far... it's a retirement paradise! I can see a large expat community certainly developing in Danang.

Another wonderful thing that impressed me about Da Nang was going to the dragon bridge when they fire it off. Despite the fact that it is done every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, 52 weeks of the year, the people come out in a huge crowd to enjoy it and enjoy being together. That sweet, happy civic pride is a piece of Americana that seems to have been lost here in the US. I was so touched and amazed by how wonderful the Vietnamese people are. Just don’t let anyone try to shine your shoes on the street!!

Thanks for the insight into what is available. Sure those are slightly higher end but it gives great indication of prices. Hopefully the visa situation will ease at the end of this month - I think the meeting is in a week? Monthly runs area pain so if there is an extended visa available it will surely open up to retirees like e. Defo on the bucket list.

Gated ? Simply put.... you feel your better then those around you ! My experience .... UNICEF in Liberia Africa. As a Peace Corps volunteer. I watched kids gather around the gated UNICEF compound at around 1 pm. Suddenly I seen a bunch of things fly over the fence. It was what remained of the compound noon meal beef steaks..... fruits.... fried chicken. This it what gated means !!
