Ingredients:
1 1/4 Cup Long Grain Rice (I used Kroger Brand)
2 3/4 Cup Water
3 Cups Milk (Use the Milk of your choice)
1 Can of Evaporated Milk
3/4 to 1 Cup Of Sugar (I used cane sugar)
2 Mexican Cinnamon Sticks
1/4 to 1/2 Cup Raisins
1/8 Teaspoon Salt (or use half of the 1/4 Teaspoon to measure)
If you are using Cinnamon powder start with 1 Teaspoon. add gradually when it's all cooked to achieve your desired cinnamon flavor.
Optional:
You can add condensed milk (Lechera) to your milk base
You can also use orange or lemon zest for added flavor to your milk bast. Make sure to remove before service as it can get bitter
You can also add your choice of fruit to the milk blend. Such as Mango, banana, Strawberries. The options are endless friends.
Tip-
Make sure your rice is not fully cooked and also not hard when you bite it. If you have a hard consistency before you add it to your milk. The hardness will not disappear. Make sure the texture is to your liking before you add the rice to your milk.
If after you cooked your rice. You don’t have enough milk. You can start by adding 1 Cup of milk at a time with 1 Tablespoon sugar. That way you still have a milk base with the sweetness we all enjoy from Arroz con leche.
I’ve made this recipe many times and will say this. It will depend on your rice and also on your energy. Make sure to listen to your favorite jams or watch your favorite friends. That’s how I make it comfortable for my home and continue to put a lot of love in my food, family, and friends. In the end, Make it comfortable for your home. Lost of love, Stephanie

I was one that initially made it with milk🥛...over and over (failed each time) until I finally watched my mom and felt like such a mensa😣. Now I make it like this, but have added the sweet condensed milk. Going back to the basics, I love this😍!!

The first time I made arroz con leche, I did the same thing and cooked the rice with the milk. My mom always made it with extra milk and we would have it as a drink with our breakfast, even oatmeal, and cream of wheat. One time maybe like 4 years ago my made it the regular way but added zest from an orange and it was so delicious!

That's the way I was taught so simple and yes I have seen videos where they boil rice with milk no water and that's not the way I was taught but everyone is different, I personally use 2 percent milk and Splenda and if course cinnamon sticks raisins I love and I in my bowl put raisin Bran cereal just a little! But I love how simple you make it!!

I just made arroz con Leche by tweaking your recipe. I made 2 cups of rice in the rice cooker and added it to the hot cinnamon milk. It was thick like my mom used to make. It was delicious. Wish I could post a pic here.

😂 I’ve done that too. That was the last time I made that. Came out wrong. But, really having some memories when I lived next to my Welita. I just had my baby boy and she would just walk right in from the back door and bring me a pot full of arroz con Leche. Because I also, had a c-section so she didn’t want me in the kitchen.
