@mrfangaz3245 exactly! Taking ill advised non kill shots and then not immediately repositioning after firing only advertises your location. Had he stalked the other player i would have probably walked right into his line of sight and given him a free 2nd kill.

Definitely agree, I’ve played most of the those games as well. Vigor is by far more intense and interesting. Not to knock those games because they are fun to. But Vigor, just not much like it. Not even other extraction based shooters are quite as enthralling as this.

@@GamerRoundup I got agree with you 100%, that's what makes Vigor so unique. I like the challenge it brings. Shooting mechanism has its learning curve to it and shooting every gun can feel different so you go with what feels best for you at least in encounters. The other game modes are fun as well.

Unfortunately I doubt any changes will occur. Prox Chat more than doubles the data pull so BI would have to double their budget for the servers. On a game that has been out this long doesn’t seem likely but both are great suggestions!

There’s an unwritten rule that I’d say at least 50% of the player base follows that if you do the hey emote and your guns away they won’t shoot on sight. Some of the better players will even take you to poi‘s and protect you if you’re a newer player. But the other 50% don’t care and will take you out. There is also team play but no random queuing so you have to take a friend with you.

Yeah, I mean as a general rule of thumb, I shoot first and ask questions later. In fact, just played an encounter about a half hour ago where I almost didn't kill a guy. Saw him first, had my gun out but not raised, then watched as he suddenly raised his weapon and attempted to kill me with a semiautomatic rifle made for long distance. We were about 40 feet apart and he missed his shot, thankfully I was equipped with the A74-KSU and lit him up with my last last fired shot ringing him in the dome. Needless to say, it's always a risk of losing your equipment if you don't shoot first and ask questions later. But at the same time, never try to be the first one to shoot unless you know for a fact you have a clear shot and can't F it up. Recoil has been my downfall in several gunfights until I took the range seriously and started learning recoil patterns. Use the range extensively and don't practice on the plates or the bottles. Use the dummies. Learn how many shots you need for whatever weapon you take to down someone. Sometimes all you have to do is put enough rounds on target first to win a gunfight. Just don't forget to heal afterwards and don't lose your situational awareness. It may be just a game, but it's still a battlefield and you will get caught slippin if you're not aware of what's going on. Sometimes low and slow is the best way to go, and if you can get out of an encounter without ever firing a shot, then I'd say it's just as successful as killing the whole lobby so long as you leave with more than you entered with.

I mean the reckless part here, I'd say, was not going ADS instead of TP aiming. Even with the recoil of the gun, a single three round burst at the head probably would have done it. But still made the shot and got it done either way. Plus I doubt he would have been located if he'd missed his second burst unless they had already been looking directly at him. Luck certainly played a role in this encounter, but I'd say it was a big part.

Vigor. I actually haven’t played dayz. It looks cool but it’s been out so long that I’m sure I’d destroyed instantly if I tried at this point.

Good question, there’s actually two ways. One you can try to outwit them by bringing in fake glints or transmitters to throw them off your trail strategically. Two you can push back on them and take the pressure off you and place it on them. At first you’ll die a lot, but eventually you’ll be the dominant force and laugh after they dm you calling you a cheater because you wrecked them and since they have no life they can’t deal with losing.

I believe the point is the looting to ramp up what you can take in with you each trip to the outlands. Which your first 100-400 runs are a lot of fun. Sometimes you get slaughtered and sometimes you win fights you absolutely shouldn’t. And it feels really rewarding when you get out with a couple kills and the much needed chems or metal parts to make your next upgrade. Unfortunately though it really loses balance at a certain point where the loot just doesn’t matter anymore . Which either turns the looters away or forces them to become the bully and crush players who have lesser gear and less experience. At its core it’s a blast, best looter shooter or extraction shooter I’ve ever played. But the backend balance hasn’t been figured out and it’s really a shame. Hope to see them create a new iteration of this series. It’s really a great game and concept.

​@@GamerRoundupI agree and I wish the stuff you looted let you create cosmetic pieces and maybe find schematics in the world would be cool. Gives you more to work for.

@@TheSixStringGuy Even if the introduced additional characters that you could level up so when they get killed in the outlands you still feel like you lost something. Wouldn’t take much to extend that feeling of loss with a penalty attached. Right now losing chemicals I didn’t need or lmg that i have 150 of just doesn’t invoke fear unfortunately.

Respectfully I disagree. In fact I’m willing to bet you still do it every time you play. Only now you call it watching noobs and laughing. Only about 2-3% of the player base as the skill set to go head to head with other top players and win like yourself . For the rest of us being strategic and picking your shots at the right time is our best odds of extracting alive with loot. Appreciate you watching though and stay safe out there outlander!

Actually, considering the point of the tip, it's a good one. He's not saying NOT to be the first one to shoot, what he's saying is simply that you should make sure you have the opportunity to put the player down without risking your own health just for the thrill of a gunfight. It's rare that I ever shoot first, but i almost always end up with the kill. Rushing your shot and having patience is the difference between dying or walking away with the kill.
