I go their with my husband when I am 23years old and also pregnant. That time I eat this ashram food. Food is very very testy. Now I am 62 years old and my daughter is 39years. I remember all that time. So Divine. Om Santi 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

There was a day when SW shivananda left his doctor job in malesiya, became a monk. He had to beg ,out of which he used to donate too other Sadhus. Sometimes took rotis which were thrown in dust by people. Now see, Divine Life society feeds people free everyday,takes care of patients in hospital. What a great Resolution Sw Shivananda had.

I studied Yoga and Vedanta in Shivananda Ashram. Yes the dining hall where we all sit together for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is excellent. Every thing is good here. Om Namaha Shivaya.

Dear Narra, I have volunteered working few days in their kitchen. I noticed that that they do not use oil, chilies, garlic, onions and any exotic spices. It's very simple food cooked with love and devotion.

Whatever the Aashram cooks is cooked with devotion with whatever fresh vegetables they get for that day. Everything they serve is delicious. Sorry, I do not know the name of the Vegetable Curry.

@@vidyachetan468 Sure. There are two points to it. The Devotees and the Gurus/Swamis. Swamiji's also get curd and Milk and also fruits. Devotees like us are already well fed in our daily life so it is a great treat to be fed with satvik food to be better fit 😊

I was horrified during my Sivananda TTC in Vrindavan , we had to use the staff toilets one day these were the kitchen staff toilets the whole place was smeared in human faeces , every cubicle filthy no soap nothing excrement everywhere . I stayed a month stopped eating the food after week 2 and stomach bug . A complete and utter disgrace .

Sam, Unfortunately you are combining Sivananda Ashram of Rishikesh with some other Sivananda named Yoga centre. At Sivananda Ashram, Yoga is also conducted with no charges. There is no money charges in the Ashram. If you happen to visit Rishikesh Ashram you will experience bliss in clean hygienic environment and spirtual bliss. 🙏

can anyone stay there who has not walking too much or trouble fro staircase ? or cannot sit on floor ? if somebody know about .pl. reply..bcaus I want to make plan for to stay there for a few days ! is there fecilities of western toilets ? due knees problem I m asking.

Hi Swati, Anyone is welcome there to stay with prior confirmation. Please note that this Aashram expects no money, however they do expect residents to benefit from their daily programs that include, Chanting Bhajans, discourses, yoga, Aartis and many more spiritual conducts. However it is not mandatory. Their accommodation is excellent, clean and neat offering basic living facilities including English toilets'. Please note that there are steps (steep) that you will have to take to visit their Mandirs and accommodation. If you are not able to use the steps they have an alternate path which is slightly inclined. Hope I was able to give you a clear picture. Regards 🙏
