Iconic Barcelona
An overview of the Viking Cruise Excursion called Iconic Barcelona. This is a Barcelona city tour and is offered to cruise ship passengers on cruises in the Mediterranean. It is Viking Cruise Lines included excursion for cruises through Barcelona Spain, including Viking Cruises Mediterranean Odyssey, Viking Cruises Mediterranean & Italian Sojourn and Viking Cruises Mediterranean Antiquities cruises.
This Barcelona travel guide video tells you how much walking you have to do as well as where you go and what you see.
Our Barcelona day trip includes all the expected Barcelona highlights such as:
• The Columbus Monument;
• Port Vell;
• the Arc de Triomf;
• Barcelona Cathedral;
• The Gothic Quarter;
• La Sagrada Familia;
• Casa Mila;
• Casa Batllo;
• Barcelona beaches;
• Placa de Charles Darwin;
• Barcelona Casino; and
• Passeig de Gracia with its Gaudi inspired architecture.
We took this Viking Cruise video when we were doing a Viking European Cruise. We found beforehand that although there are a lot of Viking Cruise tips for travellers there was little information on Viking Ocean Cruise excursions and Viking Cruise tours. So this video is designed for those who are planning the Viking Cruise experience and want to know what a Viking Cruise Barcelona itinerary for a port visit actually shows you.
Our excursion started at the dock where we were assigned to a bus with an experienced Barcelona guide. We travelled through the port and along the coast before heading inland past historic and Gaudi inspired buildings. Along the way our guide gave us some handy Barcelona travel tips. Our first stop was at La Sagrada Familia where we had a bit of a walk between where the bus stopped and the Basilica. From here our Barcelona Spain city tour headed across the city to the Barcelona Gothic Quarter, where we had another stop so that we could explore this part of the city. Following this the bus returned us to our Viking Cruise ship and that ended our Barcelona in a day tour. While this tour only gave us a brief glimpse of this fascinating city it showed us that an extended Barcelona holiday would certainly be worthwhile.
