Snapshots of Rome
An overview of what you see when doing the Viking Cruise Excursion called Snapshots of Rome. This is a Rome city tour and is offered to cruise ship passengers on cruises in the Mediterranean. It is Viking Cruise lines included excursion for cruises through the Rome port of Civitavecchia, including Viking Cruises Mediterranean Odyssey, Viking Cruises Mediterranean & Italian Sojourn and Viking Cruises Mediterranean Antiquities cruises.
This Rome guided tour travels from the Rome cruise terminal through the city and past many Rome attractions.
The video uses a Rome map to give an understanding of the tour’s Rome itinerary as well as to show how much walking and standing is involved.
Our Rome day tour included all the expected Rome highlights such as:
• Pyramid of Cestius
• Circus Maximus - Circo Massimo
• The Rome Colosseum
• Arch of Constantine
• Basilica of St John - Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. Which is the Cathedral of Rome
• Castel Sant Angelo
• St Peters Square and St. Peters Basilica
• Vatican City and the Vatican
• Vittorio Emanuele Bridge
• Piazza della Republica and the Fountain della Naiadi
• Porta del Popolo
• Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore - Basilica of Mary Major
• Piazza dell Esquilino
• Tiber River (Rome river)
• Porta San Paolo
• The Rome ruins on the Palatine Hill
We took this Viking Cruise video when we were doing a Viking European Cruise. We found beforehand that although there are a lot of Viking Cruise tips for travelers there was little information on Viking Ocean Cruise excursions and Viking Cruise tours, especially on Rome sights and what to expect as part of these excursions. So this video is designed for those who are planning the Viking Cruise experience and want to know what a Viking Cruise Rome day trip actually shows you.
