In this video I meet up with Gudrun who is a Völva (Vølve) - the Wise Woman of the Vikings.
She describes herself as a norse shaman with knowledge about nature and herbs and the Asatru belief of the vikings. She is going to teach my about the plants in my local area. Some for healing and medicinal purpose - and others purely for their values as a food source. Gudrun asked me if I wanted to learn - and I was not one to hesitate.
Gudrun is practising her beliefs, doing lectures on norse mythology and has also published a book. Be sure to check her out on all the platforms and give her some support. Recipe for Dandelion Pancakes:
2-3 eggs
a cup of flour
a pinch of salt
a good handfull of the yellow dandelion leaves
Mix the ingredients well and add the dandelion. Fry in butter and serve with honey.
