This has been my wife’s favorite song since she was a kid. The first time I showed it to her, she absolutely lost her sh*t on the high notes. I was giddy with excitement knowing what was coming at the end of the song and how much she’d love it.

The background singing is many layers of Dan singing.

Dan oozes talent! He couldn't do a bad song if he tried. I'm 72 & never thought I'd like a metal singer but I love him. He can growl at me anytime!

The first thing that came to mind the first time I saw this bloke was, "Holy Snappin' Duckshit"... The second thing was, "What a man, What a man, What a mighty mighty good man..." Then I grabbed a loooong rope and took a deep dive into the rabbit hole, and again, Holy Snappin' Duckshit... this man can, and does, sing anything and everything and does so with precision, power and passion. His interpretations are more often than not so much better than the original. As someone who was never really into metal music, Daniel has made a convert out of me. The collaborations with other artists are are also brilliant. There are a few videos that also show off Dan's cheeky and humourous side. Above all else, each video is an example of just how much he loves the music, be it a re-imagining or some of his original work, as in the album "The Chronicles Of Ancient Wisdom" by his own band FEARLESS. Even those first not so great videos show the potential of things to come, boy oh boy, has that been the case so far... Dan's dedication and discipline over the years to developing both his instrument and the vessel in which it resides is truly admirable. He is currently working on a new album that is said to be a tribute to ManOWar, I can't wait to hear and see what he has done with it. It will be brilliant no doubt as is everything Dan touches. 🙃🐨🇦🇺

I love this song - I listen to this almost daily (great for workouts)!! So powerful - and I loved your reaction! VERY "giddy" yes but this is what Dan does to people! Your podcast idea sounds GREAT - especially if you can do interviews of musicians/singers/bands etc. - I enjoy the technical reactions because it's a learning experience.

Dan Vasc is indeed absolutely amazing! He embodies and becomes the character of every song he performs whether it's a cover or an original by Fearless, his heavy metal band, made up of himself, his brother Davi and two friends, Gabriel Belozi and Giovanni Rezende. You should give those songs a listen, too. Links to the first Fearless album, Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom, and all the songs on it can be accessed via Dan's homepage. This, along with a recent video by a recording engineer talking about putting the final touches on music from Fearless, leads me to believe we should all keep watch for an epic new tale, hopefully dropping soon! As soon as Dan grabs his mic you know he is going to open up his metal personality. His high notes and those raspy growls are Epic!!! Have you listened to the Dragonforce or Manowar songs he does? 7:12 I love the way he clearly enunciates each “t” in “great typhoon”. He does this every time except once. Most people would blur the two t’s together each time and not even think twice about it.

You have the most awesome reactions. And Dan is the perfect singer for you because he says he likes to sing songs that give you power so you can "have an epic day." There are a number of interviews with Dan online that answer some of your questions about him. Dan himself has some old Q&A's on his channel you might enjoy watching. And he does a lot of talking in the gaming streams he does (on his gaming channel and on other people's channels). There's a lot you can dig up about him with time and minimal research. A quick rundown of what I know (based on things he's said and written): He's been singing all his life, but he only decided to go for singing as a profession after he got out of the Army. At first he was trying to sing and go to college (for a business degree) but that wasn't working out like he wanted. He left school and dedicated himself to his singing full time. He's had more than a decade of vocal training, and gave voice lessons himself for a time. He's worked as a session singer, providing vocals for numerous bands and recordings, but now he focuses on his own work. He doesn't believe in "talent" but in skills that one develops with dedication and hard work.

I forgot something in my previous comment. Because you also feel the music, and appreciate its emotional pull, I thought you might be interested in seeing Dan's younger brother (who is the bass guitarist for their band Fearless) listen to and break down the music in video games. Davi ( Dah vee' ) has composed music for several games, and it's just gorgeous. In his breakdowns, the viewer gets to see a video of a game being played, as Davi listens to the music, but can't see the video, himself. He, like Dan, FEELS every bit of the music, and hardly ever misses, when he tells the viewers exactly what is happening in the game video, as he listens to the music!
