Y’know, sometimes Liam plays the “win at any cost” role so well, that knowing his genuine stance on a given subject within a vs debate is kinda tricky. Which is a shame, as he’s clearly intelligent and practiced enough to process feats and facts pretty feckin’ fast. As such, I’m 99% sure that nothing written below would be a surprise to him(or anyone on the research team, really) but as someone who’d really like to see this matchup actually happen one day, figured I might as well jot down my thoughts on the Alien V argument fir posterity’s sake. And where better than a public forum filled with other strongly opinionated and 100% rational individuals? Given the reboot’s interpretation of the Ben 10 multiverse and its position therein, the argument that base Vilgax is equivalent across both depictions is neither air tight nor totally unreasonable. Of course, Alien V would trivialize any stat gaps between reboot and prime. That being said, reboot and prime are distinctly separate universes, and the characters within are distinct and separate entities. Hence, while you can loosely argue feat scaling given the right frames of reference, specific equipment should be restricted to the version of the character that wielded it. Prime Vilgax did possess the original Omnitrix very briefly, but never once used it to transform himself into anything, let alone a Celestialsapian, and lost the device far too quickly for its inclusion in his kit to feel justified. Reboot Vilgax may very well prove the stronger squid-face as a result, but he’s not the version most fans would want to see in an episode of Death Battle, and compositing them this way just doesn’t feel right, especially given that it turns this match totally one sided like Sam said.

And I have nothing against this match up specifically (other then the fact some of the connections are just flat out wrong) I just personally think Vilgax vs (a specific version like G1 Cartoon) MegaTron is a better option for him And the reason I say specific is because. Well if your gonna composite MegaTron (which you don’t need to do, there’s plenty of versions of him who have more then enough on their own) it’s only logical and fair to composite Vilgax and give him everything he’s ever had too I mean you’d be making a character that canonically doesn’t exist with a Transformers composite. At least the same 1 Vilgax has had all the stuff you can give and composite him with Lmao Anyway that’s just my perineal take on all this. Not much more to say besides. Yeah, I think it works better for Vilgax, has more solid connections, banter potential, animation potential, debatable depending what you give both, and overall being galactic space conquerors with robot armies who actually still care for and worship their home planet and fight to protect it to the point of even teaming up with their own rival to insure it’s safety, definitely opens the idea for an amazing set piece

I can't believe you guys didn't mention that Ridley was named after Ridley Scott. Re; getting owned by Samus... Ridley does routinely take on Federation navy frigates and space colonies (Metroid `prime and Super `Metroid, respectively). Ridley gets super killed in Super Metroid (literally falls apart on screen), after several dozen super missiles and power bombs (fwiw, Ridley takes double damage from missiles and Su. miss., and even then, still takes more than all the super missiles Samus can carry). Re; punching things at the speed of light... I'd think that unless a character has actually been depicted punching something at the speed of light, it's not actually an option in their arsenal, as such.

Nice of them to throw a bone to the Ben 10 crowd, hopefully enough for them to get past how Ben can't handle a Green Lantern.

Ben10 is just inconsistent. That's why it's not good for this show. Point blank stuff just happens and stuff keeps going. It's like the comic books of the show.
