This song touched me so deeply - as Terrence Bliss finds out, even winning the lotto can not make you happier, if you have spent all of your life running away from people & reality & locking yourself away from the world, just waiting on luck to determine the outcome of your life - just waiting for a "momen*tary bliss*". How powerful.

That's an interesting take on it, I don't see it that way rather that Terrence would rather stay in his sadness than take up the opportunity of a new life that he doesn't know.

Maybe it doesn't matter because he knew it was too late to make the right choices, and he's has to learn to make peace with that. He should have changed from within, but what's the point anymore? Powerful shit.

i can understand this video and song pretty well. in 1990 i won a week in maui for two people at a professional conference in tucson; i was living in portland, oregon. i took my 12-yr-old son during christmas time, and it was very beautiful, total luxury. but i was so depressed with a chronic depression that i barely got through the week. when our minds are sick, when we've lost all confidence in ourselves, barely anything gets in... even the best of luck.

Something grabbed me in this song the very first time I heard it… I had to stop what I was doing to listen… Sometimes we spend our lives waiting for something to happen… while it all slips away. The message I get from this is that it's very easy to be scared of sudden good fortune. Terrence is stuck in a rut, and even winning the lottery can't change it (he buys a ticket the next day).

The protagonist's name is 'Terrence Bliss' because of this verse: "Some kind of momentary bliss?", the fonetic of the word 'mo-men-tary' suggests the name (sounds like mo-ment-Terry), it's a word game! I hope this helps :)

when i would listen to this song, it was as though i was using it as a means of grieving. but i realized after a while that i cant just sit here and be so damn sad all the time about whatever i was worrying about. life is too short to be sitting and being so sad and wishing you could change the past, because there is an entire future ahead of you :) now when i listen to this song i just smile because i feel as though it opened doors for me :)

It's not a depressing video {a day in the life of Terrence Bliss}. He's not depressed, he's content with the life he has. He's actually an example of what all lottery winners should do. It may seem depressing to some people, but this made me smile :)
