Worth noting that the Egyptians didn't depict people as they actually looked. That idea wouldn't arise probably until the Greeks. Most societies of the time depicted people as they wanted to be remembered, meaning any statue or other image of them would have been a highly idealized version of what they wanted to look like, rather than how they actually looked.

I once had an internahip in a museum when they had there a lot of mummies. Some of the egyptian ones had artificial ears and noses. The egyptians had cut off the real ones and replaced them with new ones during the mummification process.

Very cool technology, and a great idea to show them about. Yes, seeing them react to queens of ancient India restored in this way really would be icing on the cake :D But also a deeper dive into the history of ancient Egypt could be interesting, maybe even an overview of Egyptian mythology.

All the mythologies would be fun to watch. I lot of my social circle know Greek Mythology and maybe a little bit of celtic from fantasies, but eastern mythologies too. ANY of these would be so interesting to see and watch their reactions. Babu would be a great person to hear his input.

Recreations like this are so fascinating. I've watched several, and these seem particularly good. Really enjoyed the guys' reactions. I liked the way they started comparing how close the features were to the recreations. And of course, loved Raeen saying he'd like to marry the one. 🥰 The other two teasing him was funny. I wish there was one out there of famous Indian queens. I would also like to see their reactions to more videos about ancient Egypt. An amazing history and mythology; I think they'd love it. Might be a good idea to tell those gents that ladies of that time wore wigs. The carved statues depicts the wigs that they had worn. They didn't have mascara but used kohl to act as sunshades like this 😎 because the sunlight in Egypt was ultra bright at times when the granite, alabaster, marble & the desert sands was pale colour tended to be blinding. Those gents to be told that they didn't use modern cosmetics, lipstick, mascara & blush in that way.

There are kings and Queens missing from much of Egypt's past as the mummies haven't reappeared and currently missing. though we are searching possible places of them. The younger lady mummy currently in the Cairo Museum may be the remains of Nefertiti though with its face broken from a murder its hard to tell. we do know a bust was recreated to show who she may have been but there is no current way of identifying who it exactly is as DNA doesn't work on Egyptian mummies for some reason and identifying marks are long gone. so we are stuck.

@@leestirling4623 dna is only so good as dna was tried the problem is the entire mummification process destroys something in it. We only have fragments of dna from mummies not enough to say exactly who they were. We actually proved it by doing a modern mummy using a body donated to science and what records we have using old techniques. We monitored the body the entire time and five years after mummification a tooth was taken out for dna testing and literally just fragments of DNA showed up on the test. It’s just so weird.

The Younger Lady is almost certainly not Nefertiti. She is definitely the mother of Tutankhamun and the sister of the boy king's father, Akhenaten, but we cannot be sure as to her identity. Historical evidence suggests however that Nefertiti was not Tutankhamun's mother, meaning the Younger Lady is likely ruled out. As for the damage to her face, it's consistent with either a blow from a blunt object or a kick in the face from a horse. Both plausible, but difficult to say. As for missing monarchs, this can easily be chalked up to tomb raiding in both contemporary and ancient times. As Egypt declined, the priesthood actively participated in state sponsored looting, ravaging nearly every royal tomb in the land. Mummies were unwrapped, carelessly stripped of their valuables, rewrapped and dumped in communal tombs. Over the following centuries, they were plundered for use as curiosities, ground into powder to serve as medicine, fuel or even paint. As such, it's a wonder we have as many bodies as we do, since many famous pharaohs (perhaps even Alexander the Great) may have simply been dumped on a fire somewhere.
