Please reassure Babu that the rifles used in drills like this are unloaded, to prevent any possible accident to the audience. Drills like this are the epitome of discipline and self-discipline. For Raeen, the buttons on the uniforms are brass or gold-colored aluminum. As other posters have mentioned, the Marines are not part of the Army; they are their own corps. I'm glad the guys enjoyed this video.

Those were US Marine's, not US Army. I'm an Army Infantry veteran and live seeing my Marine brothers show their stuff like this. Babu may enjoy knowing that NO OFFICERS were in this drill. They were "common" men. It appeared as though the leader was a Gunnery Sergeant, and must of the team was Lance Corporal and Corporal's. The US military relies ion its "common" troops for most things.

This march and the way the soldiers are dressed remind me of classic wooden toy soldiers. The iconic tall, straight stature in uniform and a gun at his arm like a spear, there’s a unique impression about it. As always, the military is impressive.

I’ve got to say here..this was awesome! When I was a 12 year old female growing up in Florida, we had an opportunity in our area to become part of a Naval unit…us females did Rifle Guard routine like this & I must say, we were awesome too! Had uniforms, earned bars for our caps & marched in parades…was so much fun! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊

Please tell the guys, tthe ribbons and the hanging medals are awards for various duties in other lands. (not "gold"). The one inspecting and standing at center is NOT an officer, but is a higher ranking 'sergeant' than those in the line. They have an officer, at times, and you can tell because he wears a sword. The rifles they use are the old WW2 M-1 Garand, with the issued bayonet. Tthe uniform is the Marines 'dress blues', Iin any action that requires the use of the American Marines, their motto is: "first in, last out".

Not very keen on military stuff right now, but this is more of a choreography, so it's kind of cool. Reminded me a bit of a medieval dance formation in some parts :D That might even be something to show to the guys some day - some recreation of medieval dances, from a ren fair or something.
@edschultheis9537
@edschultheis9537 2 жыл бұрын
DM, Assuming you're and American... Whether you are keen or "not very keen on military stuff right now", the US military is what allows you opportunity to be a free person in this world and pursue your interests. Without them, you would have very little time or ability to enjoy "medieval dances" or "ren fairs or something" because you would almost certainly be living under the control of a dictator. I suggest you be grateful of the US military and those who serve in it. It is because of them that you are free.
@brianroman6150
@brianroman6150 2 жыл бұрын
@@edschultheis9537 that argument could go both ways... It's obviously not black & white but it's definitely a really dark shade of Grey. We start more nonsense than we clean up or prevent... Their comment about not being in the mood is understandable. It's a reminder that forces us to ask ourselves, what are we doing? How do we know what we're really doing out there is for anyone's freedom? Why bring up that we wouldn't have our freedom without them... Every country needs defense... But most people currently in the more serious & costly locations are just being used to take advantage of other smaller countries with resources & ports we want access to. The "fighting for freedom" line doesn't really hold up for the US when we actually deploy anyone. Do you realize a lot of it is relying less on patriotism and freedom than it is about fighting for your unit? Smaller motivations that wouldn't even be there without the effort of the military itself. Not some desire for freedom. They wouldn't have anyone to order around if they didn't have other motivations to fight. Getting back at an enemy who hurt someone in your unit. Getting young kids who's brains aren't even fully developed to join because they don't have many other options in life. If you go down the line of why so many even join it's not about freedom. It's about structure or routine or just being a part of something with some vague bigger meaning they're trying to find that when you actually examine it isn't really all that meaningful. It's so pathetic and sad

There are many, many things that happened in this drill. To explain it all would mean a wall of text even though I have never served in the armed forces, much less the Marines which Commodore Stephen Decatur Jr brought about. Well, in this -- it makes sure every man is fit for battle with the inspection of the rifles that the Marines have. I can not remember the significance of the knife though. Although I must say this to the Elders: Nothing you do in the Marine Corps is ever good enough even in this type of display. Though the comradery, the brothership you develop with your other Marine is something no one can understand -- they are as dear as a brother that will never betray you if I had to put it briefly.

Integration of women in the Marines was 8.6% female in 2018, about half the figure of 16.5% when considering the Army, Navy, Air Force.
