Villareal is a team that is known for moving from 0 to 100 in a flash. They can bring a kind of ruthless intensity to games when they're losing. They did it to Barça and win 5-3 away. They almost did to to Marseille. Now if you're unfortunate enough to be with a defender recovering from ACL and without two wonderful shock absorbers ( Kroos and Tchouameni) then you're in trouble. Someone should tell Ceballos that holding on to the ball just a second too long is only tolerable if you're playing far away from your penalty box.

I don’t want to turn this into a rant because it’s not, but it’s a story I want to share, and hopefully someone can fill the blanks. I can’t remember which year it was, but Ceballos lost my support during his first spell with us when he really poorly gave away the ball in el clasico and Barcelona ended up winning the game, and then the league after it. While my memory is fuzzy, I remember that being a turning point in the season. We were on the rise until that game. Then the loss took a big mental toll. He holds on to the ball way too much and hasn’t learned after all these years. Ok, aside from that - we have to remember that this is basically pre season for Mili. Hopefully he gets back to his best next season, but it’s clear that he shouldn’t be a starter in the final. Rudi will be fine. Can’t wait to see your preview of the final!

Militao was at fault for 3 of the 4 goals conceded and each one got worse. This was a feeling out for him, his first real test competitively. Surely he has blown all chances for a start in the UCL final. I would say that's the blessing in disguise even tho this game meant nothing in terms of anything else. Mili needs clearly a lot more time and a pre season. For some reason Mili+Rudi just hasn't worked but context is key and we need a fit Militao to properly assess. Ceballos has to go...As you said, his decision making is woefully inconsistent and he tries to hard to impress and then fouls up. Arda is my youngest son and he is life, what a beauty and if he can get a goal in the final, he'll be an instant legend but i may be dreaming lol. I love how Luka always starts alongside Adra and is a mentor on the pitch for him, I've especially seen it in these past two games. Modric's profile is irreplaceable. I'm glad he's staying another year.

Kid might do well in a 10 role, or he might be good as a free roamer. I think he lacks the speed of Rodrygo, so I'd put Rodrygo as the starting right winger. If Jude plays as an 8 next season, I'd put Arda in the attacking midfield rotation. hes amazing for sure

Yeah, you can't start Militao in the UCL final. I think today was the perfect showcase of that. And it wasn't just his performance, I think the fact that he's not fully back in the swing of things affected Rüdiger as well and destabilized that whole entire back line. Cause you can see for the third goal Rüdiger comes out to challenge for a ball trusting that Militao will take care of it if the run of play gets there, and when he doesn't, Rüdiger reacted after that goal by playing with a lot less aggression, which was pretty much like an invitation for Villarreal to attack us further

As a Fenerbahçe fan I witnessed this kid 1 whole season when he was 17. I knew when he came to Real Madrid that he will bring Rodrygo to sweat hard for his position. Although I love Rodrygos playing style ❤

The Villarreal Vs Real Madrid game was or less a practice/training for Real Madrid. The players are avoiding injuries.

People are saying this Militao performance is due to Injury but i think people forgot that 4-2 loss against Girona last season... Lot of things are similar between this match & Girona match In this match Sorloth scored 4 goals & in Girona match Castellanos scored 4 goals & in both of these matches we had Rudiger & Militao as CB partners and the goals were Kinda similar aswell between both these matches IDK what is the cause of this but maybe Rudiger & Militao are not a good CB pairing

I'm worried Ancelotti is resting some of our key players too much. We saw it in the 1st leg against Manchester City that was played on the 9th of April. Our last match before that was on the 31st of March. Had our players been sharper in that match, we would have won against Man City at the Bernabeu. I know we have to avoid injuries but we also have to avoid lacking match sharpness.

Hmm, I'm inclined to give Militao a little bit more leeway. For me, only goal 2 was (almost) entirely his fault, apart from the cross that shouldn't have got there. Goals 3 and 4 I'm less critical of Militao because there was just zero protection from the midfield, especially Ceballos, the ever day dreaming space cadet who thinks he's much better than he is. And Rudiger got done on both 3 and 4 - twice on 4. So neither of those goals should have got to the stage where Militao made his errors. Still, there's nothing worse than seeing a centre back dive in when just staying on their feet is enough to do the job. Even when Nacho came on, he also made some weird decisions, like the ball he smashed at Martín across the box, and some misplaced passes in bad positions - I still think the best CB pairing is Rudiger and Tchouameni. I hope Tchou is back for the final and plays because Nacho is going to get done by their height. On Guler, from what we've seen, I'm finding it hard not to want him to start up front with Vini in the final. If Rodrygo had his ability to find the corners, he'd have 40+ goals. I think Guler's going to light up the Euros.

Th Question is for the next season- Arda or Rodrygo ? IMO Arda is too good to play in the midfield. Rodrygo has speed but not finishing, but Mbappe coming, it doesn't matter so much but Arda's talent too much to ignore and he needs more playing time next season. Also Brahim's best position in the right wing. It is truely a "3 body problems."

Militao was not that great in the previous 2-3 matches. You could tell he wasn’t ready. And yesterday, he displayed a masterclass in disaster defending and he knew it when he was coming off.

I think RM right wing dominated the pitch. But I cant say it for left wing. Garcia let them press on himself and it was seemed they were successful. But Arda and Lucas dominated sometimes Modric and Valverde joined them it was a pleasure to watch
