More appropriate to say Inter-state marriage ...I'm also enjoying two languages and two ethnicities as my mother is from Andhra Pradesh, while my father belongs to Odisha...and I'm really very proud to be the part of both states and can speak both languages fluently(Telugu and Odia, both the languages are classified as classical languages of India)...

High political incorrectness alert!! Its the other way! Caste is one's identity strong Hindu identity and centuries kong Vedantic pravtices are what are keeping Hinduism strong. Such self centric, rabidly individualistic marriages forced on parents are diluting it! Next generation would go further to promote " diversity" and marry one of another religion / culture / country.

The concept of hereditary Caste division itself is not Indian, it's a superimposition of the Spanish/Portuguese caste system and the English Class system in India, intending to divide the natives and use them against each other while the English hold power and work as a mediator. Caste was a pyramid scheme that Europeans sold to Indians via their English imposition in Indian society to divide Indians into groups/ghettos and make them fight with each other. So don’t mix up Varna with Gotram, Varna is Profession, and Gotram is Lineage. Hindus are free to marry in different Varnas, only avoid marrying in the same Gotram because it is considered the same bloodline, hence we don’t marry between brothers and sisters.

@@user-kn6qx9wj9b In Hindu Dharma, especially birth based caste is a recent times colonial imposition, however Varna (Occupation) was the original one, in Varna there was no upper or lower, people chose the work of which they are qualified for, and according to Bhagavad Gita, anyone can be a Brahmin (Teacher, Scholar profession), Shatriya (Warrior, Army profession), Vaishya (Trader, Business profession), Shudra (Other social workers) based on as per their skills, knowledge, and capabilities: 🔹In Bhagavad Gita 4:13, Krishna says that he created different Varnas [Profession] on the basis of one's Karma [Activities] and Guna [Characteristics]. 🔹Bhagavad Gita 5:18 “The truly learned, with the eyes of divine knowledge, see with equal vision a Brahmin, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and a dog-eater” 🔹Bhagavad Gita 9:29 “I am equally disposed to all living entities: there is neither friend nor foe to Me: but those who with living sentiments render divotional service unto Me, such persons are in Me and I am in them.” 🔹Bhagavad Gita 18:41 “The duties of the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras are distributed in accordance with their Guṇas [Characteristics]. (Nothing comes with the birth except some divine Characteristics). Caste is an English term derived from the Spanish term “Casta” which stands for 'Breed' or 'lineage'. During earlier times, “Caste” use to be Varna (Profession) and based on Guna (Characteristics) and not merely just by birth. Instances from the ancient times proves that a so-called modern day “lower caste” can educate oneself with knowledge and change their Varna (Profession) to “upper caste”, e.g., Guru Valmiki, Kabir Das were from a Shudra family but became a Brahmin based on Guna (Characteristics or Essence), Ravana and his younger brother Kumbhakarna were Brahmins (educated person) from Northern India but because of their notorious Karmas (activities) all were punished by Shri Rama (believed to be an OBC if we abide by today's caste categorization). Lastly, you have to understand the British motive behind imposing the caste system:- The Caucasians (Europeans) created Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda, Africa, to divide and control the native population, and for this reason, the Rwanda Genocide occurred. The same attempts and inequalities Europeans also tried to create amongst Indians by separating Northern India and Southern India into “Aryans” VS “Dravidians” and further dividing Hinduism into 3,000 castes and 25,000 sub-castes. Read about Herbert Hope Risley who created casteism, racism in Indian society by one's facial features and skin color, and Bishop Robert Caldwell who coined the term “Dravidian” and propagated the “Aryan Invasion” in Southern India to convert Southern Indians into Christianity. And read these books (1) Castes of Minds by Nicholas Dirks, (2) Western Foundations of the Caste System

The Child's so lucky to know two prominent languages from very different language families. Knowing Marathi will make it easy for them to learn other Indo Aryan languages and Tamil will help in understanding other Dravidian ones. I am pentalingual but unfortunately I know only Indo Aryan languages so Dravidian languages are so difficult. Knowing more than one language especially significantly different ,unrelated languages during childhood increases intelligence but also it may give them an identity crisis. That's one perk of being born in intercommunal households I guess ^_^

Inter caste marriages are a big problem when customs of both sides are vastly different. For example veg - non veg, orthodox families with great discipline- modern families with less restrictions, only polite words usage in the family- harsh vulgar words usage in the family, value based family - family that goes along with the rest of the society etc etc...

@@KhotSaee You have no experience with this. When families on both sides stand on the exact opposite of the spectrum, it becomes hard to have contact with both sides though there is love for both families. Following the customs of the father's side is equal to denying those of mother's side and because of that for one side of the family we can do nothing but greet on social media.
