Those gorgeous mountains are The Great Smoky Mountains in Eastern Tennessee & Western North Carolina which happens to be where I live. I get to see this amazing view everyday 💙 I’ve been lucky enough to see Vince Gill 3 times over the years & his shows are top tier 🎤🎸 He is also a masterful guitar player! Check out his song “When I Call Your Name” which he sings with the same woman (Patty Loveless) that you just heard on this song. He was also in a popular band back in the early 70’s called “Pure Prairie League” check him out then with their song “Amie” ♥️ It’s really worth a listen from 1972 ♥️

Vince Gill is a talent the industry considers "country music" in the US. But anyone who knows his music realizes you can't pigeonhole a talent like Vince. His voice is heavenly and he can wail on the guitar with the best of them. Glad you guys discovered Vince.

The line 'no stranger to the rain' is referring to Keith Whitley who was a good friend. He died from accidental alcohol poisoning. Keith is from my hometown (Sandy Hook, Elliott County Kentucky). I know practically his whole family and went to school with many of them. Ricky Skaggs (backing vocal) is from the next county over. He and Keith got their start in bluegrass music playing with Ralph Stanley. Vince started writing the song shortly after Keith's death but he was unable to finish it until his brother died.

Last year we lost my sister from liver disease from alcoholism. She had just had her 51rst birthday 2 weeks prior! My Mom lost two children within 12 years apart! Now, she only has me and my baby brother who is on drugs! Please (if you believe in prayer ) pray for him that my Mom will never have to lose another child to anything! @@annemaclean6634 She must’ve been a wonderful person. I met my friend Mickey shortly after I got out of the Navy in 1980/81 through my girlfriend. It was her brother. He was 11 years older than me and he taught me some very important lessons about manhood. He introduced me to the blues and I got him a slot at the radio station I DJ’d at the time. His sister dumped me and he kept me. Lol. The last time I saw him in person, he told me that he loved me and I use that memory to sustain me. I hope you have one also.

Vince Gill has an Angels voice. He's my fave country music artist. I've seen him in concert with Bryan White .. another awesome voice that is fantastic alongside Vince Gill. The latest huge Eagles loss was Glen Frey in 2016. Don Henley of the Eagles hired Vince Gill to fill in along with Frey's son Deacon. Deacon just recently left the Eagles to branch out on his own. While Vince Gill still tours with the Eagles & has since about a year after Glen Frey died. This is perfect to me bc Eagles are my #1 band & Vince Gill being my #1 country singer just fits perfect for me anyway. Thnx Patrick & George .. Peace Out ☮️🙋🏼♀️❣️
