Other than the natural and rather slow change of the climate, which is cyclical, there is no climate change. If you pretend that there is, you are being led about by the nose.

My long haul started Dec 2020 no gap between acute and long Covid. It just morphed. Horrible year 1, bad year 2, management since. Quit work for 2 years, managing now. Thanks for keeping the word going.

I also developed Long Covid early on, after contracting the wild strain of Covid -19 in February 2020. I felt lucky to survive the first year. My heathcare org. didn't recognize Long Covid until April 2020. They have a clinic that is useless, but other departments have been helpful. I've kept up following the science and been willing to try therapies that relate to my ongoing symptoms. I hope you are recovering. ❤

Exactly right! I look forward to more but what a daunting task after looking at the lists presented by Daniel. Such a complex disease to start with with its phases and symptoms and then more of that complexity in long COVID mechanisms and treatments.

Low serotonin in long covid: this again points to covid caused gastrointestinal damage preventing vitamin B12 absorption, since b12 is needed in synthesis of serotonin. Lack of b12 could also somewhat explain change in gut microbiome. Also anemia seems to be frequent in long covid.

8:23 is it possible that the Winter Peak and Summer Surge are driven by the increased amount of people indoors to escape extreme cold/heat? I know you mentioned that not nearly enough of the funds to improve HVAC filtration were used to purpose. 🤷‍♀️ if COVID isn’t seasonal -the way the flu is-then could peak/surge be caused by a ‘tipping point’ of % of time a higher % of bodies spend in enclosed spaces?
@robinirons541
@robinirons541 25 күн бұрын
Are any respiratory viruses seasonal? I’ve had colds in spring and summer months long before Covid reared its ugly head. I blamed my kids at the time as being the lurg spreaders as their immune systems had not met any of usual suspect viruses until they started school. Stay safe😊

@HeatherOrdover-CraftLit I agree the key factor is the degree of close contact and that depends on people's behaviour. The US is a large country and has different climates, that tend to blur the picture. The UK is smaller and the pattern is much clearer. There are two peaks, one in late Summer/early Autumn and another early in January.
@TinaLee
@TinaLee 22 күн бұрын
Yes, Yes. It's so good to see my own thoughts written by someone else. Summer increases could also be caused by the large number of people who travel in summer, similar to holiday surges after each family gathering, but less concentrated in time. One person arriving home from a vacation in Puerto Rico could spark an uptick in several communities (not just their own) if they are shedding virus while traveling.
@TinaLee
@TinaLee 22 күн бұрын
I only meant to add another cause on top of the indoor transmission due to heat and AC, not to discount your thoughts. I agree with you as to the biggest cause of summer uptick. And that "tipping point" is crucial to understanding how surges work.

At 11:10 in the “Link” where to get Pemgarda, the link merely takes you to an old link that is basically an old press release by the FDA. No actual contact information is provided! As this is the second time this has happened I thought I would let you folks know. Vincent and Daniel still love you guys though. ❤

NAC is a sulfur- like supplement. I used it with bromelain, ( pineapple enzyme) it was supposed to break down the spike. A couple of weeks use did seem to help.

True, but the rate of change is unprecedented. Look up all other periods of changes. Even those marked as fast are nothing compared to the rising temperatures we are facing today. Consider the fact in a short time, the plant will not support the present human population.

Extremely rapid anthropogenic global warming, overwhelming evidence, virulently denied by reactionary elements & fossil fuel interests -- now the argument is a rather lame, well, the climate always changes, still denial, still missing the point

I discussed Pemgarda with my oncologist yesterday. Our hospital is not yet set up for it. She said it is not yet known how long the immunity will last. We are thinking of getting in November to have the protection during the winter peak.

@katherinecroll 23 күн бұрын
If you were to get it now, you would be eligible again in November (every 90 days). If you are at higher risk or immunocompromised, it certainly couldn't hurt as we are tending to see summer surges still!
