@@fapnoob In their former "life" they seemed to be more of Lawful Evil type of rulers as in they kept the order/knowledge throughout the ages with the price of non lethal blood taxes instead of gold. Honestly is rather hard sometimes to come up with LE "kingdoms" that people would be divided on "how evil are they if their people love them and they don't bother outsiders?".

@@Zeliek "Law" is better branded as "order". What is more orderly than a police state? The imperium of man is pretty lawful evil. Change is chaotic, even good changes. "Don't rock the boat" "spare the rod, spoil the child" "we've been doing it like this for years" etc. If you primarily use order to prop up malevolent practices, or often perform such practices to uphold the rules, "Lawful evil". As for approval ratings, if the 20% get shafted by the 80%, then you may well have a roughly 80% approval rating for the practice, which is very good politically speaking. This has been employed to "good" effect by many regimes and is one of the harsher criticisms levied at democracy and populism. (I love the alignment system so forgive me, if you would, for ranting a bit.) Note that actors and actions are related, but still discrete. A lawful good society like star trek can still have the arguably LE section 31 or CG captains so long as they, as a greater organization, employ practices and peoples that are primarily LG. Likewise, a soldier that kills isn't strictly evil if they do more good outside of that, and especially if they only perform those evils while also doing good, e.g. protecting themselves and others. Identifying alignment is like sampling color. Mostly red? Chaotic. Blue? Law. Darker? Evil. Lighter? Good. Neutral is just a matter of not being distinct enough one way or another for categorization. Each action is a drop of paint in a bucket, shifting the color of the actor towards that of the action.

I mostly agree with this, but it's a huge exaggeration to say chat was backseating practically the WHOLE time. Sheez.
