My mom passed away last year, she was the biggest Beatles fan of all time, probably. We'd always get into these arguments about what their best album is. I was always an Abbey Road guy, but she insists that Revolver is their best. Good to hear you're a White Album guy, that's a truly great one too.

Building on your Revolver/Pet Sounds point, Paul actually directly contributed to the recording of SMiLE. He did percussion in Vege-Tables in the form of chewing celery. Brian Wilson gets Paul McCartney into the studio and was like 'all other musical talent be damned, this dude can fuckin CHOMP' I'm sure this anecdote has been told a million times but I never get tired of it

Thank you, Vinny. Nostalgic journey for this viewer. As a fellow Floyd fan... a suggested listen is David Gilmour's collaboration with The Orb, called 'Metallic Spheres', released 2010. I'm not sure if it's on vinyl or not. May be for the more discerning ear but I find it a fascinating work 🙂

Melt is one of my favorite albums. Kinda helps that I'm fond of Gabriel-era Genesis and Robert Fripp was involved in this album (and Gabriel's first two). I was most elated when I saw a vinyl of it last year at a second-hand shop.
