I remember the yoyo games days, back when I was still learning the ropes of game dev as a tiny baby lass. the garbage was abundant, but the best games (which even then weren't even all that good) were featured prominently on the front page, pushing everyone to try more. I had a few "games" uploaded to the site, nothing good. but SOMEHOW, literally years after the site went down, SOMEONE out of the barely 20 people who downloaded it sent one of my worst games to Vinny, and he streamed it. the scars from that day never truly healed

Lakota Corff Good luck. Dontrel Murphy is notorious for removing all traces of a prior build when he updates these games. The one Vinny played is Dontrel Dolphin 2, I believe. He eventually went on to make Dontrel Dolphin 3 (which crashed at the first or second boss), before scrapping the Dontrel Dolphin character entirely for some bland mishmash of shapes he calls Trel Man. I think.

Honestly, I think it's that most of the people who make highlight videos of anyone are in high school and have just the right amount of passion, free time, and interest in editing to make stuff like this even though they probably make no money doing it. Once they start getting ready for college or work then making compilations of someone else's content just isn't a good use of their time anymore there'll always be new young people who wanna do this as a fun way to practice editing, but they'll also always eventually grow out of it, too. it's the circle of internet life

Oh my gods. When I saw the princess I was like "wait... she looks familiar..." then when the gameplay continued I remembered Garden Gnome Carnage. Just went to look it up again and it's made by Yoyo Games. Garden Gnome Carnage was my favorite flash game ever, until all the links died. Give YoYo a job at a promising new independent game studio and in thirty years we will have the second ever fully featured Strand genre game, starring Frankie Muniz in the midst of his adult acting career renaissance, complete with Director/Actor GoTY appearance and adoration. I am saying this as someone who respects Kojima and likes Death Stranding as a genuinely engaging activity. Also I am sort of neutral on Frankie Muniz but I recently heard he is a talented musician who was taken in by a band that eventually ousted him because they were apparently all divas who couldn't cope with the fact that everyone recognized the former actor they begged to be in their band. So, you know, feel kind of bad for him, but also really hope he can turn this around into a return to form.
