Someone had posted a clip of the whole demo including the pipe at the end and I knew then and there that Vin would instinctively jump on top of the pipe since you’re supposed to jump over everything else in the level up to that point I was both so happy and so upset that he did exactly that

Truly, man, my props to you. This is the kind of shit that Nintendo can't give us. I played this a couple years back and had a similar experience to Vinny (except I remember it going forwards after the backwards segment) -- I feel like Vinny's experience was far more normal than people realize

MX is actually a little unnerving in appearance because imagine walking home at 1AM and someone 20 feet away suddenly walks up in front of you that looks like that and notices you. Lmao

He kinda looks like Pete in Steamboat Willie or Bluto from Popeye which made me like him more than the other “we poured red paint all over Mario’s eyes please be scared” ones before it. When he jumps out of the pit at the end and gets larger the old cartoon brute villain vibes really kick in.

I also think it's a shiny example on why playtesting and tweaking the boss "fight" difficulty curve is very important to avoid an one hour tryhard session. That, and the importance of Gamepad Support just so Vinny can be 25% better...but it's not like that matters. but in another hand: Mario '85 is truly the Dark Souls of Creepypastas.

There's even been a Cat Mario version of this game, and that April Fools' demo's main antagonist, called Nekoamon, is canonically MX's pet according to the dev. Yeah, this game has more lore than it probably should.

An interesting thing is since it is static it isn't as hard as you'd think, a lot of it lines up really nicely. Most of it is just Vinny isn't the best at times and you can see this from how often he got the same death in the same spot in the same way. This is easier then easy Geometry Dash. You just have to pay attention and not give into brain rot and memes.

@@thinnairr Well Vinny had the RP charecter, so even back then his skill with makeing voices was evident. At first glance one might beleve the joel is a cherecter, especelly from cut videos - i.e. joel was a charecter that Vinny did sometimes and videos were cut together of 'Joel'.

there really isn’t that much, if you’re talking about what’s been put out officially, all there really is is what’s in the demo, and a couple details about lucas’s character from the creators it seems that the creators have kept things ambiguous, wether on purpose or not, and i honestly kinda like that
