In today's video I'm joined by my friend Andy, whom I've known for about thirty years. Andy has one of the finest vintage bubble gum card collections in existence. It's simply breathtaking!
Today we are looking at his collection of the 1960's, English Batman sets. Some beautiful and rare cards to see here along with original wrappers and promotional items.

Obviously someone will have pointed this out but Batman first came out in 1939 not 1959! I started collecting Batman comics in 1960 and have maintained a complete run of Batman and Detective Comics along with these bubblegum cards. Thanks for doing this!

Thank you for this video! Trivia: A small, steel shooting gallery toy produced at the time of the TV series featured little head-shots of the main villains, but Batwoman was actually shown instead of Catwoman! An obvious error, likely her pointy mask fooled someone looking at old comics for a Catwoman image to use. This was a toy bought for my older brother, an attached plastic spring-loaded gun shot small bearing balls at the villains.

Who can forget the Adam West series . As children we took it quite seriously . Years later as a kidult i howled with laughter at the puns, satire and jokes some of an adult nature , Alfred posing as a lawyer name Mr Tort . Or when they were all flattened with a ray gun...one of the villian looking at Batgirl and saying ..' too bad ' did not get it as a child .lol Even the window climbing . And the camoes . Lol . I had the cards with the riddle and decorder. " Why does Batman drive to the Batcave ? " Its too far to walk " duh...lol. Sweet. And while i do like the later reboot and movies...( thank you Mr Miller ) . I do still love the classics . Thank you Andy , thank you Jules , for the memories .Looking forward to more . Till then . The original Batman whilst not everyone's favourite remains one of mine. I remember it being on BBC4 at 7:30 and watched it with my children when they were younger. My fella disagrees about the original Batman being the best but we'll agree to disagree.
