The Certina DS, Eterna Kontiki and Universal Polerouter Sub in the 60s have more or less the same design ( dial configuration ) and the GF bracelet. Nice to have in the collection.

That diver model is so rare that you can jump of a cliff :D. Very nice watches, Certinas as it's finest during its peak.

Hi. I just watched this (again) after buying a '64 DS ref. 5301 013 with a 25-661 hand-wound mov't with date. It's incredibly clean. Crisp lightly polished case with all original chamfers and surfaces still sharp.The (silver) dial is untouched and very, very clean. No signs of water/dust egress or sun damage. Good sharp baton hand set with original faded orange ends. Flat Turtle caseback (as opposed to the more sculptured turtle casebacks on the auto's.) Freshly serviced (+4spd & amp. of 292). New seals and gaskets all around and pressure tested to 10atm. Now the cons!: New non original crown. Non original seconds hand. Fitted with an orange second hand from a DS-2. 🤷🏻 But he has supplied the/an original second hand. It's my first vintage Certina (I have the DS PH200-M and the DS-2 re-issue). It cost me next to nothing (~ $300US including shipping from the Netherlands to Australia). I'll source an original crown and get it + the original seconds hand fitted by my watch maker and still have a good example for little money. I'm on the lookout for an Argonaut 280 next. I'm a big fan of the brand because my uncle was issued a DS-3 as a young UDT Diver in the Royal Australian Navy. Once I'm a bit more confident buying vintage I hope to pick up some of the more collectable divers and chronographs. I love what you showcased here too. And thank gawd for vintagecertina.ch, hey? These DS cases are one of my all time favourites. The elongated lugs give it such great presence for a ~36mm watch, enough for it to work well on my 20cm / 8" wrist. Desert Island 𝙑𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 watch? ... the 'Dark Knight' dial with the unique arabics may just be it! A great pair; the original bracelets make a big difference. Unfortunately, mine don't have those. 🤷🏻

Amazing pieces!! I'm currently waiting to get my Certina DS back from my watchmaker. 18k gold including the Gay Frères bracelet from April 1962. Can't wait to have it back. Vintage Certinas are just amazing!
