Hello Vintage Neighbors! It's time to test another vintage gadget!! Today we are testing out a 1960's Presto Hot Dogger. Thanks so much to a vintage neighbor for sending it my way! Let’s see if the Hot Doggers claims are true. Can it really cook 6 hot dogs in 60 seconds??

My grandmother had one of those and used it only when we kids came over. Otherwise, I don’t think she ate hotdogs. My sister still has her Salton Yogurt Maker and I have and use The Buttoneer, a device to attach buttons to clothes. It’s basically a piercing gun for those plastic price tags used in cheap discount stores. It does do a great job keeping buttons on thick material like woolen coats and upholstery.

I slit them down the middle and fry them up with a little butter in a stove top fry pan. A little mustard with sauerkraut or Boarshead red onion sauce (like the hot dog vendors) makes them juicy and tasty. I buy the not preserved, nitrate free Angus beef ones so I don’t have to feel guilt!

My mom used to put hot dogs in her potato soup. Not one of my favs. She also used to dunk her hotdog, bun and all, in hot tea. She was a tea drinker. My favorite hot dogs were from a place called the Stop Lunch (in the 60’s 70’s) they called them Texas hot wieners. They had mustard, diced onion with salt on them and a kind of meat chili. Man I could eat one of those right now! Thanks for the memories Laci. So nice to see you back! Happy New Year.

@@Ellenslife851 In the fifties when l was young and through the sixties here in Canada, mustard, ketchup and relish were common. A burger from McDonald's came with little packets of those condiments. My parents had one. This was before we got a microwave. It does cook them, however, the taste is nasty. The wiener ends up with an electrical, metallic taste. I used to run a consignment shop and we got one of these in and it was so neat but at the same time scary because it's just electrocuting a hot dog to fix it LOL Used to have so much neat stuff come in and before that I sold antiques on Ebay and learned so much. I just think they made things so much better back then, even the things from the early 1980s were made better and lasted longer. I think there's a lot of us, that if we could or if Time Machines ever became a thing that might runaway to the past and be much happier.

I just saw this on Recollection Road. Excited to see you try it. Apparently they were really popular. Also I’m cracking up at your “little” ketchup!

The taste test shrug cracked me up. This is a really cool gadget, my kiddo and I would have a blast using it. I also have Town & Country pieces. 😊

I remember one of these as a kid. I only remember Mom using it once.

The hotdogs look great and quick cooking too! Glad you didn't have a brown out or something! 😅 But, the hotdogs do look yummy! I think Johnny Cash would love one!❤😺♥️

I cook my hotdogs in the oven at 400° for 10-14 minutes. It is by far my favorite way, other than over a grill.
