Getting some spaces in our home more cozy with my daughter's vintage inspired bedroom. This is the second installment of the process and I upcycle 5 projects for our home at a fraction of the cost if we purchased new. Come join me to get inspired to create!

Pipers room came out so cute and cozy; but I have to agree with her, I prefer the books with the spines showing.

What a great sanctuary bedroom for Pyper❤ I lived in Alaska for 3 1/2 years! They will be in awe of its beauty! Can't wait to hear about it.

Piper’s room is gorgeous, I’d love to do something like that in my own room. You’ve given me some great ideas though so thank you Heather. I have a few things already but I can’t move my things around by myself, or at all actually. I have to rely on someone else doing it for me and no one seems to have the time. Thanks for your videos, I love them, I just don’t comment ever.

Heather and Piper, love how your room turned out!!! Heather, what a great idea turning the books around... I would have never thought about that yet, love! I love those green curtains. We are going to be putting our new house together soon and I cannot wait to get to decorate it. I bought a little girls bed room set that looks like a doll house and it lights up. It is so unique and I think those curtains are going to go perfect so I went and looked for them ❤❤❤ just gorgeous. She will love her room. Great job mama❤

You did a beautiful job, so many fun details. I really love that wood piece above the bed. I enjoy the raw wood, I could see a floral transfer on it also. Love the shade, curtains and the fun metal shelf! Very sophisticated and soft. ❤

*I have been looking forward to Part 2 of Piper's bedroom makeover❣️ You have added some lovely and charming details to her room that are so very thoughtful. Piper should enjoy her room so much more in its cozied up transformation. 😊* *However, dear Heather, I am so disappointed that you changed Piper's books. 📚 They looked MUCH BETTER the way Piper had them on her bookshelf. To me, this feels so wrong, like an invasion of her privacy - or worse yet - your actions made it seem as though you think her style is inferior to what her Mama thinks is right. I am not trying to be mean to you, Heather, but you came right out and said you changed it even though you knew Piper had "gotten it just how she likes it" but "I had free reign because she wasn't here". I don't think you realize how disrespectful to your daughter your actions were. 😔 I am telling you this in the kindest way I know how to do, because I truly don't think you intended to hurt her feelings. If I were a teenaged child, my feelings would be very hurt. I hope that is NOT the case with Piper's feelings. 😢😥😭 Sincerely, I hope I am wrong! I just wanted you to consider another perspective that most likely didn't occur to you. I hope you still consider me a friend; my intent is NOT to offend you, Heather, but to take a moment and look at things another way.*

Thank you so much for your honest response! Piper and I have been working on her room together and she knew I would be in her space and finalizing things. We had moved her bookcase around a couple of times so she took a picture of the way she finally decided she wanted her books. I showed her your response and she said “how nice that she was worried about me…but you only turned my books around.” In the end she has decided to turn them back around so she can see what books she has and has read. I feel like I may have triggered something deeper and for that I am sorry. I have many wounds from boundaries being crossed and I know it can be alarming when this happens. Piper has assured me that I didn’t go too far and we have a rapport where she can tell me that she doesn’t like an idea I have. In fact she has done this a number of times with this room makeover. I am confident that she is coming up with her own style and isn’t afraid to voice it. What I meant during my outro is that I could style it a different way since she was gone of how I would like to do it and she is free to style it differently when she gets back. She is absolutely putting her books back the way she had them but is okay with me trying something different. Thank you for voicing your concern and sticking up for my kid! 🥰

At the time, I didn't think of it quite that way; but you are right; I WAS sticking up for your kid. 😁 That comment hit the nail on the head❣️ Isn't it great that even though we have never met in person, I feel protective of Piper like an Auntie, and have a love for and a vested interest in your family? Perhaps it is because our families belong to the family of God, in Christ Jesus, that I was triggered.💜 I have a Mama Bear personality and I stick up for those I love...which includes your entire family. 🥰 I am delighted that neither Piper or you were offended and that you didn't go too far when you switched her books around. WHEW‼️ And, if I am being honest, I can think of a couple of instances as a kid where I felt boundaries were crossed and I was being disrespected. I realize now I didn't want Piper to feel how I felt when my feelings were trampled upon as a child and I had no recourse.
