Vario does also offer a 40mm version of this watch in a brass case

I just purchased one of these watches and I can't wait to receive it. Put in the order the beginning of the week, and I've been getting constant emails from them updating me on where things are. Today I got an email from Judy with a photo of the very watch I'm getting and all the accessories. I'm blown away at the fantastic customer service and communication. What an amazing company, and I look forward to purchasing more of their products in the near future!

One day. A limited edition hand wind movement. But for now it is an excellent timepiece. Highly legible, good lume, gorgeous throwback looks, the bund strap gives it a macho look. And a reliable Miyota automatic movement. Good job Vario.!

Thank you for a great video. I absolutely get you on the stories that the old trench watch could tell. The value of these objects goes far beyond the aesthetics of the objects themselves, and then to hold the modern version in the Vario is bringing the past to life. It tells the time, it tells a story. You have educated me an widened the scope of my own interests. Enjoy it. I will check out the website. The NATO on the Kuoe just made that watch into something really special. Now I'm going to be looking at creating something similar. It might mean less money going on watches of lesser quality and so investing in something better. That's what I'm learning anyway. All KZfaq watch reviewers should watch this video. It was literally something else.

The lume of that original trench watch is most likely radium, so be aware. That is if it has lume.

Great review, I like the efforts you've done to put it together and how you don't flood the simplicity of the design with too much words. It acutally works very well at describing how the watch feels like. Well done and, it's quite refreshing. Your version of the Vario is lovely, and is most certainly a loyal reproduction of an aged watch. Something between the past and the present. I've taken a risk picking the white dial / white numeral ( red 12 ) version. It actually looks like how a brand new one would have looked like. Just like the old one you got, but new, yet I don't have a personnal connection to that look, because, spoiler alert, I'm not over a hundred years old, and never owned a brand new one. I've always experienced them in their old days. So I thought it was interesting to go almost full in the past, design wise, and see how it goes. It should arrive during august. Ps : your original trench watch is likely painted with radium. If it has a crystal on, ignore the following ( I just can't tell if it does ). While the alpha radiations it emits are little to no worry at all ( a sheet of paper is most likely enough to block them...) I'd recommend putting a crystal on it, or storing it in a box and to not manipulate the dial. It's the accumulation within the body ( radium sticks to bones / teeth ) that can causes harm. Not a big concern though, it really is a matter of quantity and accumulation over time, in the body.
